Katy was named CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress in April 2024. She served as associate administrator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco before joining the Encompass Health Cypress team. Additional experience includes serving as area director of quality and risk management for both Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shelby County in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Katy earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and her master’s degree in biomedical ethics from Albany Medical College. Katy also holds a Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

Dr. Lachina has served as the medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress since October 2011. He completed his medical studies at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York Medical College.

Prior to joining HealthSouth, Dr. Lachina served as the medical director for the rehabilitation department at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital for 22 years. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Lachina is an independent private practice physician.

Melissa Haddox joined the Encompass Health team as controller in March, 2013. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Texas State University. Melissa has over 30 years of experience in healthcare and financial management. Previously, she has worked at for profit hospital corporate offices in management roles with responsibility for Medicare and Medicare reimbursement and regulatory compliance in both inpatient acute and post-acute settings.

Kevin brings 20 years of nursing experience to his role as chief nursing officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. He has served in leadership roles at HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland and Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas as well as West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, Louisiana. Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama and his master’s degree in nursing and healthcare system management from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Alex serves as the director of facility management for Encompass Health Rehabilitation of Cypress. Alex joined the Cypress team in 2018 after working nine years in facility management for an acute care hospital. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Baylor University in 2009. Alex is responsible for environmental services, maintenance and life safety of the hospital.

Justin brings more than 10 years of social work and case management expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. A Kentucky native, Justin earned his bachelor’s degree from Kentucky Christian University and his master’s degree in social work from the University of Kentucky. He is also a member of the American Case Management Association. Justin joined Encompass Health as a case manager in 2015 in Huntington, West Virginia before being promoted to director of case management in 2019 at the Bryan, Texas location. As the director of case management, he serves as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care is provided.

Aaron joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress team as the director of pharmacy in November 2023. Aaron actively participates in the education of upcoming pharmacists as an educational preceptor and is a member of various professional organizations. He is passionate about ensuring our patients are given the best care and, upon leaving our hospital, understand the important role their medications play in helping them live the life they want to live. Aaron earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy.

Byron serves as the director of human resources for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He joined the Encompass Health Cypress team in 2016 after spending the previous 12 years in the acute care hospital environment. Byron is responsible to plan, organize and direct all aspects of human resources management for the hospital.

Susha serves as the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. She joined Encompass Health in November 2014 as a physical therapist and was promoted to physical therapy team lead soon after. Prior to joining Encompass Health in 2014, Susha worked in various settings including acute inpatient, home health and skilled nursing. Susha has been a physical therapist since 2003 and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Wayne State University in Michigan. She has specializations in neurological rehabilitation including C/NDT for stroke rehabilitation and LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s rehabilitation. Susha is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and returning patients to independence.

With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, Jo has a diverse background spanning inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, skilled nursing and assisted living settings. She began her journey at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress in October 2011 as an admission liaison and advanced to a senior level in 2017 before she transitioned to a quality-focused role as quality coordinator in November 2022. Jo was promoted to director of quality and risk in August 2024. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Jo’s passion lies in enhancing patient satisfaction, improving outcomes and driving process improvement within healthcare.
