Jonathan has worked at Encompass Health since 2013 as an occupational therapist, therapy team leader, senior patient assessments coordinator and director of therapy operations. He is a licensed occupational therapist (OTR) who attended the University of Central Arkansas where he received his bachelor’s degree in health science and Master of Science in occupational therapy.

Dr. Mathurin brings more than 20 years of experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. He received his education at the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez; SUNY Health Center at Brooklyn, New York; Columbia University – Harlem Hospital and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, New Jersey. Dr. Mathurin is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Mathurin is an independent private practice physician.

Laura brings 28 years of healthcare experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. She has been with Encompass Health since 2013 as the PAS coordinator and received her IRF-PAI certification in 2015. She ensures accurate completion of all IRF-PAI quality indicators sections, is the IRF-PAI expert and is the IRF-PAI quality indicator educator and training coordinator. During her career as a PASC, she has participated in Encompass Health's IRF-PAI data elements documentation origin committee, participates in the resource review committee and is in the preceptor program for the Southwest Region. Her knowledge, leadership and teaching skills make her a valuable asset to the Encompass Health Humble team.

Jenny started her case management career at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sugar Land in 2015. She earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of Houston. Jenny holds a case management certification from the American Case Management Association.

Christy brings more than 15 years of human resources experience to the leadership team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. She has an extensive background in human resource management with an expertise in employee relations. Christy has been a member of the team since 2007.

Stephanie brings more than 27 years of healthcare experience to her role as chief nursing officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. Her background includes 24 years of nursing experience in various areas including acute care, long term acute care and pediatrics and more than 10 years of experience in nursing leadership. Stephanie joined Encompass Health in 2015 and is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Jason brings more than 10 years of leadership experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. A Louisiana native, he graduated from the University of Louisiana with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. Jason is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association as well as the Texas Speech and Hearing Association.

Karen joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble in 2020. Karen has a bachelor’s of science degree in health information management and is a registered health information administrator. She has held a variety of positions in health information management in various healthcare facilities for more than 30 years. Karen served as HIPAA compliance and privacy officer in some of those positions since HIPAA became law in 1996.

Lisa brings ten years of Encompass Health clinical liaison experience to the role of director of quality and risk management. In addition to her many accomplishments with Encompass Health, Lisa also brings the discipline and attention to detail gained from twenty one years of service in The United States Army, finishing that career as sergeant first class. Lisa has experience in ICU and trauma medicine as well as a successful record in leadership roles. It is with this combination of experience and dedication to patients and staff education, that Lisa looks forward to continuous improvements in patient care and quality.

Trisha came to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble with more than 20 years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist. She has a passion for helping members of our community and is an advocate in assisting patients and their families in receiving the care and outcomes they deserve. Trisha worked with Cypress, The Vintage and Humble Encompass Health hospitals for eleven years as a rehabilitation liaison before being named business development director in February 2022.

Curtis has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble since 1990 and brings more than 30 years experience in pharmacy. Throughout his career he has enjoyed various awards and recognitions from institutions such as Texas Southern University, Humble Independent School District and Veterans Administration Hospital to name a few. He is very active with various pharmacy industry associations and leadership programs.

Joshua Vaught has been with Encompass Health since February of 2018. He earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from Texas A&M University. Josh has a strong background in facilities management, originating in the higher education sector.
