Chief Executive Officer
Scott took the helm as chief executive officer at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in 2024. Scott’s tenure with Encompass Health began in 2005 and includes senior leadership positions at four different Encompass Health rehabilitation hospitals in Tennessee and Maine. Scott joined the healthcare community in 2001 coming from the ski management and newspaper industries where he worked in communications, marketing and management. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cornell University and a graduate certificate in health policy and management from the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service.
Medical Director
Dr. Johns joined Vanderbilt Stallworth in August 2013, coming from Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital where he served as the associate hospital medical director and medical director for the spinal cord injury program from 2006 - 2013. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he completed his medical studies at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Johns completed his residency and chief residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is sub-specialty board certified in spinal cord injury medicine.
Dr. Johns is an independent private practice physician.
Controller
Christine joined Vanderbilt Stallworth in 2016. She previously resided in Houston, Texas, and has more than 20 years’ healthcare experience in hospital and outpatient settings. She is a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Chief Nursing Officer
Cynthia Childress was named chief nursing officer in May 2018 for Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital. Prior to joining Vanderbilt Stallworth, Cindy served in a variety of roles at Vanderbilt Medical Center since 2001 including manager for orthopedics/urology, general surgery and colorectal surgery. In addition, she served as the business coordinator for the Surgical Patient Care Center. She started her career at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in East Tennessee as a critical care RN and as a critical care educator. Cindy has an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University and a BSN from East Tennessee State University.
Director of Pharmacy
Tamika brings more than 10 years of pharmacy management experience to her role as director of pharmacy. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University in 2004 and completed her master’s degree in business at the University of Florida in 2012. Tamika has practiced in many areas of pharmaceutical care including inpatient, long-term acute care, community and home infusion settings. Her practice expertise includes management, antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetics. She supports the Tennessee Schools of Pharmacy in her role as associate faculty/preceptor.
Director of Case Management
Michael joined Vanderbilt Stallworth in December 2002 as a case manager. He previously worked for Neurorestorative Group as a vocational rehabilitation specialist and case manager. In January 2018, he assumed the interim director of case management role and was promoted to the permanent position in March 2018. Michael’s clinical interests include spinal cord injury and multiple trauma rehabilitation. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in anthropology in 1996, and completed his master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from The University of Memphis in 1998.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Angela joined Vanderbilt Stallworth in 2017 as a registered nurse and was promoted to director of quality and risk management in April 2019. With over 7 years of nursing experience, Angela worked in a variety of clinical settings including medical-surgical, hospice, long term care and rehabilitation. Her clinical interests are traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Angela earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Trent University, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She resides in Nashville area with her husband Michael and their daughter Sydney.
Director of Therapy Operations
Eric Lieman, PT, DPT, has been employed at Vanderbilt Stallworth since 2008. He started as a staff physical therapist, was promoted to therapy manager in January 2016, and now serves as the director of therapy operations. Eric’s clinical interests include neurological rehabilitation. He graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in psychology in 2001, and completed his physical therapy degree in 2006 at Columbia University. Eric lives in Nashville with his wife Gina and twins Isabella and Dylan.
Director of Support Services
Tim brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to Vanderbilt Stallworth. Tim grew up in Melbourne Beach, Florida and began a career in materials management when he entered healthcare in 1981 after a tour in the Navy. He joined the rehabilitation sector in 1989. Tim has worked in rehabilitation hospitals in Florida, Texas, California and Tennessee with progressive levels of responsibility.
Business Development Director
Fadi joined Vanderbilt Stallworth as the business development director in January 2020 with over 20 years of healthcare experience. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, he’s worked for national and international healthcare organizations, specializing in leadership, marketing and business development. Fadi is passionate about helping people and developing strong relationships, both personal and at work.
Human Resources Director
Sharon joined Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in January 2022 as the director of human resources with over 25 years of human resources management experience. Prior to joining Vanderbilt Stallworth, Sharon worked in the hotel and hospitality industry. She has a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and a master’s degree in organizational management from Ashford University. Sharon is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and now lives in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
