Located in Humble, we serve the greater Houston area as a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury, oncology and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Committed to setting the standard in post-acute care, our hospital holds Joint Commission disease-specific care certifications in hip fracture rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation, brain injury rehabilitation and oncology rehabilitation.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Tiffany Miller assumed the role of CEO in March 2020 and brings seven years of healthcare experience leading teams to achieve operational excellence and superior patient outcomes. She previously held hospital administration roles with several national post-acute and regional acute care companies. Miller earned her doctorate of business administration from University of the Incarnate Word as well as a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University and a bachelor’s degree in management from Texas Lutheran University.
Dr. Mathurin brings more than 20 years of experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Humble. He received his education at the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez; SUNY Health Center at Brooklyn, New York; Columbia University – Harlem Hospital and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, New Jersey. Dr. Mathurin is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Mathurin is an independent private practice physician.
Human Resources Director
Christy brings more than 15 years of human resources experience to the leadership team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble. She has an extensive background in human resource management with an expertise in employee relations. Christy has been a member of the HealthSouth team since 2007.
Director of Therapy Operations
Danie Fallon joined Encompass Health in 2020 and brought 12 years of clinical experience and five years of leadership experience to her role as director of therapy operations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human biology from SUNY College at Oneonta before obtaining her doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2008 from Stony Brook University. Danie also holds an MBA in healthcare administration from the University of Texas. She is passionate about disease-specific care programs and using evidence-based practice and data to drive patient outcomes.
Director of Quality and Risk
Lisa brings ten years of Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth clinical liaison experience to the role of director of quality and risk management. In addition to her many accomplishments with Encompass Health, Lisa also brings the discipline and attention to detail gained from twenty one years of service in The United States Army, finishing that career as sergeant first class. Lisa has experience in ICU and trauma medicine as well as a successful record in leadership roles. It is with this combination of experience and dedication to patients and staff education, that Lisa looks forward to continuous improvements in patient care and quality.
Sheila has been with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth since 2000 and with Encompass Health in Humble since 2010. She brings more than 10 years of hospital accounting experience. Sheila earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from University of Phoenix.
Director of Pharmacy
Curtis has been with Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth since 1990 and brings more than 30 years experience in pharmacy. Throughout his career he has enjoyed various awards and recognitions from institutions such as Texas Southern University, Humble Independent School District and Veterans Administration Hospital to name a few. He is very active with various pharmacy industry associations and leadership programs.
Facilities Management Director
Joshua Vaught has been with Encompass Health since February of 2018. He earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from Texas A&M University. Josh has a strong background in facilities management, originating in the higher education sector.
Director of Case Management
Sharon brings more than 20 years of experience to the case management department at Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth. She has a diverse background in case management with director level experience in dialysis and Medicare Advantage insurance plans. Sharon is a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
