We are proud to provide compassionate in-home hospice care to patients and their loved ones.
Encompass Health is a national sponsor of Together to End Stroke
The goal of hospice care is to neither hasten nor postpone death, but provide care and support at the end of life when curative measures are no longer the best option. We help patients live fully and completely by focusing on symptom and pain management so they can live with dignity, not in fear.
Our team of skilled nurses, medical social workers, hospice aides and medical directors take the time to understand each patient’s needs on a deeper level and work alongside their physician to implement the best plan of care. Chaplains, volunteers and bereavement specialists are also part of our team of hospice experts and help meet the spiritual and emotional needs of not only the patient, but their loved ones as well.
Encompass Health provides hospice care wherever the patient calls home, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals and independent living facilities. No matter the setting, our team will coordinate with existing caregivers to ensure care and support for the patient and family.
Hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Hospice care is provided by a team of professionals dedicated to delivering physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional comfort to improve quality of life for those living with a terminal illness.
Hospice services require a terminal illness with a prognosis of six months or less.
Hospice care is paid for through the Medicare hospice benefit, with no co-pay or out-of-pocket cost for qualified Medicare beneficiaries. Medicaid and many private insurance companies also pay hospice benefits with minimal personal cost.
Encompass Health is a Medicare and Medicaid-certified agency and is in-network with several private insurance plans.
