Dr. Fanous is a board-certified physiatrist who serves as the medical director of Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Fanous is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed both his medical internship and physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at The Ohio State University where he served as chief resident. He also completed his master's degree in business administration at The Ohio State University. Dr. Fanous currently serves as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University.

Laura brings with her more than 20 years of pharmacy experience to Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital. She graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2003 with her Doctor of Pharmacy and has since worked in both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy settings. She brings with her experience in both clinical and administrative roles within pharmacy, including more than 10 years in the acute care setting. She has worked as a clinical pharmacy manager with a focus on critical care and infectious disease, precepting future pharmacy students and has previous director of pharmacy experience.
Controller
Jason has more than 25 years of finance/accounting experience with approximately 10 years in the healthcare industry. In his role as controller, he oversees the complete accounting and financial function of the hospital. Before joining Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital, Jason was the finance manager for a hospital in Southeast Ohio. He is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Ohio and holds a bachelor’s degree in business from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in business from Franklin University.

Angela began her career with the Mount Carmel Health System in 2006, as a physical therapist with the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Mount Carmel West Hospital. Since 2017, she has worked at Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital, both as a physical therapist and a patient assessment standards coordinator. Angela earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science and her master’s degree in physical therapy from The Ohio State University.
Chief Nursing Officer
Susan began her career as a nursing assistant in 2000 and is now a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN). Her journey in nursing has taken her from direct patient care to director of nursing positions. Before her career with Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital, Susan worked as a bedside nurse in intermediate critical care, she then began working for an Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in North Carolina. While in North Carolina, Susan served as a wound care coordinator, nurse manager and hospital educator. Susan is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.
