Peg Wittmer had finished riding 16 miles on her bicycle and made a trip to the grocery store before she started feeling as if she pulled a muscle. She went home and took a nap. When she woke up, she couldn’t walk and almost fell over due to experiencing a stroke. "That would be the last thing that I would think would have happened to me but it did and I'm just grateful it wasn't worse," Peg said. After a trip to the acute care hospital, Peg was admitted to Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital where she participated in physical and occupational therapy activities to help her return to the active life she had before a stroke.
