Encompass Health hosts grand opening celebration for 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Waco

Encompass Health recently hosted a grand opening celebration for its new, freestanding rehabilitation hospital in Waco. Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco will welcome its first patients on Monday, August 2, to the hospital located at 3600 S Loop 340 Highway in Robinson.

The specialized hospital will provide care for people in Waco and the surrounding communities through comprehensive physical rehabilitation services. The 40-bed, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes all private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym, an in-house pharmacy, a four-chair dialysis suite, courtyard, dining room and dayroom areas. The hospital team will provide inpatient rehabilitation services and higher medical management for patients recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, hip fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions. Patients will receive a minimum of three hours per day of therapy for five days each week, 24-hour nursing care, access to advanced technologies and frequent visits by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician during their stay.

In addition to hospital tours and technology demonstrations, the grand opening included a ribbon cutting and presentation. Remarks were delivered by Donna Harris, CEO of Encompass Health of Waco; Frank Brown, President of Encompass Health’s Southwest Region; and Mark Tarr, President & CEO of Encompass Health Corp.
