Mike Cabiro assumed the role of CEO in March 2017 and brings 15 years of operational leadership experience to his role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland in addition to his 12 years of clinical-level experience as a physical therapist. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from LSU Medical Center and a master’s degree in business administration from TWU in Houston.

As medical director, Dr. Rose will work with clinicians and other staff members to create a care plan designed to meet the needs of each patient. After completing medical school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Rose completed a transitional year in Dearborn at Oakwood Hospital then completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Rose has also completed a fellowship with a brain injury and stroke program. She holds membership with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Rose is an independent private practice physician.

With more than 18 years in healthcare, consisting of clinical and leadership roles, Dedra brings an immeasurable amount of experience and understanding of hospital operations to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland. She joined Encompass Health in 2005 and found her way back in 2011 where she held various positions throughout the hospital system. Dedra is the chief nursing officer and a certified rehabilitation registered nurse with a focus on clinical excellence. She graduated from UTA with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and received her master’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.

Lisiane Church is a Clinical Social Worker and has a Ph.D. from University of Houston. Ms. Church has been working in the Health Care System for 15 + years. She served as an Administrator for Joint Commission Certification in 2007 at Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire and it was successfully granted.  Ms. Church’s goals are to provide patients/families the best Hospital Experience and a safe discharge to the Community.

Catarina has been employed by Encompass Health since 2019. After starting as a human resource assistant, she now serves as the human resources director at Encompass Health Pearland. Catarina earned her master’s degree in business administration from Texas Woman’s University with a concentration in human resources. Catarina holds her SHRM-CP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Oscar brings more than six years of nursing experience and more than two years of leadership experience to the patient assessment standards coordinator role. He enjoys using his clinical knowledge to positively impact patients’ lives by helping to determine the patient’s length of stay, educating the staff and striving for excellent patient outcomes. Oscar’s knowledge, leadership and teaching experience make him a valued asset to the Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth Pearland leadership team.

Courtney has spent her entire career in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in fitness and human performance from the University of Houston Clear Lake in 2007, she received her doctorate of physical therapy from Hardin-Simmons University in 2009. She has her Neuro-IFRAH® and LSVT Big® certifications and is a member of the Texas and American Physical Therapy Association.

Nancy brings several years of experience as a senior maintenance mechanic to her current role as director of facilities management. She has been employed at Encompass Health since 2014. She holds a bachelor’s degree with a major in electrical and electronics engineering from Vivekananda College of Engineering in 2006. Nancy is responsible for maintenance, environmental services and the security of a working environment to ensure the needs of employees, patients and the organization are being met.

Novia brings 30 years of healthcare experience to her role as business development director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland. A native of Columbia, Missouri, she is a graduate of the nursing program at Columbia College. Novia has worked in various healthcare roles starting as a unit secretary, bedside nursing, case management, utilization review and leading the business development team. Novia feels a life of service and patient advocacy are her calling and strives to ensure patients get the healthcare they deserve and need.

Carol joined the Encompass Health team as controller in August of 2013. She is a certified public accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Angelo State University. Carol has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare and financial management for private, public and non-profit organizations.

Mital is the director of pharmacy at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland. She first joined the team as a PRN pharmacist in November 2017. She has over 15 years of pharmacy experience including acute care, retail and rehabilitation services. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Appalachia. Mital is a member of various professional organizations. She is passionate about ensuring our patients are given the best care and, upon leaving our hospital, understand the important role their medications play in helping them live the lives they want to live.

Kimberly is a registered respiratory therapist, with more than twenty years experience in the rehabilitation setting. In her 16 years of quality/risk experience, she has focused on patient safety and outcomes and been directly involved in program development, including stroke and pulmonary rehabilitation. Customer service is a priority for Kimberly, and she makes an effort to get to know her patients, families and customers. Kimberly was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Pearland, Texas. She is excited to bring her community and career together by joining the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Pearland team.

Rachel joined the team at Encompass Health Pearland in 2021. She graduated from Lee College, earning an associate’s degree in health information technology and certification as a RHIT in 2010. Over the last 10 years, Rachel has worked solely in inpatient rehabilitation and is experienced in a variety of health information management aspects.
