100-year-old war veteran, Lawrence McCauley, returns home after a stroke nearly a month ago

Lawrence McCauley, a 100-year-old World War II veteran from Central Ohio has lived through some challenging days including fighting alongside heroes for freedom and independence on D-Day, on Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. As life has slowed down, Lawrence has most recently spent his days fighting for his own independence at Mount Caramel Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health.
Hospital happenings
After being discharged from the hospital after his COVID-19 battle, Don Billups had one more stop on his six-week recovery journey. Billups went to at Mount Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital to help him regain strength and function after being on the ventilator for 28 days. His return home was a much needed moment for his wife, who lost her parents and a younger brother to COVID-19.
