What is orthopedic rehabilitation?

Our inpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and trauma rehabilitation programs provide patients with specialized rehabilitation that is personalized to each patient, delivering better care for improved outcomes and greater independence.

Led by a rehabilitation physician*, our team works closely with patients, formulating targeted strategies to improve each patient’s condition and address pain management. Team members may include a case manager, occupational, physical and speech therapists, rehabilitation nurses, nutrition specialists, respiratory therapists and more.

Trauma Rehabilitation at The Vintage

Once a patient is admitted to our trauma rehabilitation program, an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team evaluates the patient’s needs and goals. The team then meets weekly to re-evaluate the patient’s progress and further develop goals based upon changing needs, focusing on better care for a maximized recovery. Family training is an integral part of this process.

The patient and the family are the team’s most important members, which is why we offer family training. It is particularly important for patients to be close to their support system of friends and family throughout recovery, and our convenient visitation hours make this possible throughout the patient’s stay.

Conditions treated in trauma rehabilitation include:

  • Multiple fractures
  • Multi-trauma with brain injury
  • Multi-trauma with spinal cord injury
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Traumatic spinal cord injury
