Shortly after the announcement of our Company’s rebranding in 2017, employees in both business segments came together to help form our shared values as Encompass Health. Here’s a look in numbers of how our employees came together to create The Encompass Health Way.

Employees who used our collaborative tool to participate in shaping our values. To better understand the themes that will be critical to future success, we went straight to employees and asked them what it means and why it will be important to Encompass Health to take ownership for actions, care for the whole person, lead with a positive spirit, do the right thing no matter how difficult and strive to define the standard of excellence.

Postcards received from employees across more than 90 hospitals and agencies. We heard stories of how our employees work to deliver superior care and infuse purpose into everything they do.

Contributions received through an online dialogue about the values. Employees provided additional stories and perspectives around the key themes that emerged from the values co-creation sessions and postcards and provided guidance on how to talk about these ideas in a way that is meaningful to our employees.

Employees who participated in five co-creation sessions around the country. Each session provided an opportunity to hear directly from our employees about what they value most in our culture. The outcome? Clear direction around the behaviors that will help Encompass Health drive superior outcomes.
