CLERMONT, Fla., Jan. 23, 2023- Glenda Carius has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Clermont.The hospital is a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction at 2901 SR 150 in Clermont. The hospital is expected to begin caring for patients in April 2023.

Carius will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Clermont hospital, as well as patient care and quality. The hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care along with physical, occupational and speech therapies to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions.

Carius was formerly the associate administrator at Encompass Health of Altamonte Springs, a 70-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located in Altamonte Springs, before accepting her new role of CEO in Clermont, Florida. Carius has served in various clinical and leadership positions throughout her decade long career with Encompass Health. She first joined Encompass Health in January 2011 as a staff nurse at Encompass Health of Sarasota. Her accomplishments with Encompass Health include leading the Altamonte Springs hospital in the implementation of its internal dialysis program.

Carius obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of South Florida and a master’s degree in business administration from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.
