The effects of Parkinson’s disease can be physically and emotionally hard on patients and their loved ones. While there is no cure for Parkinson’s, if diagnosed early, treatment and therapy can reduce the side effects and help patients lead an active lifestyle.
The goal of the Parkinson’s program at Encompass Health is to change each patient’s life for the better. We partner with our patients and their loved ones to teach disease management, endurance training, adaptive living skills, mobility training and communication/cognitive skills designed to improve their physical ability and lead to a more independent lifestyle.
We know Parkinson’s disease affects everyone differently. That’s why we individually assess each patient’s strengths and limitations before creating a custom treatment plan. We set the bar high when it comes to results, so we focus on teaching the skills it takes to increase independence, endurance, mobility and communication/cognitive skills.
At Encompass Health, we believe progress happens when ideas are shared openly. When you choose Parkinson’s rehabilitation with us, you can expect a comprehensive team, which can include a rehabilitation nurse, respiratory therapist, dietitian, case manager, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist and physician, overseen by one of our medical directors. Our history of proven results starts with this team approach focused on individual success.
The goal of our Parkinson’s program is to inspire confidence in our patients and their loved ones. We work with patients and their families to educate on all aspects of the disease and course of therapy. Our team’s passion for results and constant focus on safety, helps each patient achieve their maximum independence.
