Woman Thanks Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Alexandria For Recovery From Serious Injuries After Car Accident

21-year-old Mehgan Ogeda spent almost a week in the hospital ICU after a life-threatening car accident, and her doctors were unsure if she’d ever walk or talk again. In an interview with KALB, Mehgan expresses her extreme gratitude to her therapy team, and shared that she wouldn’t be where she is today if it wasn’t for the staff at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Alexandria.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Alexandria, formerly known as HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Alexandria, will soon be undergoing an approximate $5M refresh.

Kyle Deville went to urgent care on Feb. 19 thinking it was a cold. It was actually COVID-19. He received a shot and was sent home. For a short time, he was doing great, but soon took a turn for the worse. He entered the hospital with an oxygen saturation of 73%. Once his condition stablized, he was transferred to Encompass Health Alexandria, so he could regain his strength, he could return home to his little girl.

Congratulations Debra Lemoine for being named our Employee of the Year! She demonstrates distinguished service and always goes above and beyond to ensure that we have everything needed to stock our PPE carts, and she stocks them herself if she sees they are running low. She is always pleasant and has a smile on her face and a helpful attitude. We are very thankful that we have Debra on our team. Prior to her hospital stay, Cynthia had never been away from her husband, Alvin. When hospital staff learned that their 50th wedding anniversary was happening during her stay, they worked to coordinate a drive through 50th anniversary party. It was a huge success and Cynthia was able to be discharged home several days after. Congratulations Cynthia! All of us at Encompass Health wish you the best on your continued recovery.
