On the day of her granddaughter’s birth, Dorothy Roberts was in the same hospital losing her life to COVID-19. She had survived sepsis twice, received 24 units of blood and was placed on a ventilator not once - but twice. Her family calls her recovery a miracle. After her 90-day stay at Helen Keller Hospital, she was transferred to Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital to help her regain strength and function to get her back home to her family and allow her to finally hold her new granddaughter.
