Man recovers from severe spinal cord injury at Encompass Health of Reading

Todd Gladfelter continues to undergo therapy and rehabilitation at Encompass Health of Reading after a fall earlier this year broke his neck and resulted in severe spinal cord injury, leaving the right side of his body mostly paralyzed. Dr. Daniel McNeill, medical director at Encompass Health of Reading, shares more about Todd’s condition: “What’s working in his favor is that in the grand scheme of spinal cord injuries, which is what he’s had, he has what is called incomplete injury,” which essentially means his brain signals still work.

Through the years, Todd has worked to help military veterans battle through severe post-traumatic stress disorder through a nonprofit called River House PA, which hosts retreats using nature to nurture and heal. Now, others are helping Todd through a GoFundMe page to support his recovery. Learn more at WFMZ.
