ATLANTA, Ga., April 7, 2022 – Encompass Health and Piedmont recently hosted a grand opening celebration in collaboration with the Henry County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the new joint venture, inpatient rehabilitation hospital in McDonough, Georgia. The Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry welcomed its first patients in October 2021 to the hospital located at 2200 Patrick Henry Parkway.

The specialized hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services and higher medical management for patients recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, hip fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions. The 50-bed, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital includes all private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym, an in-house pharmacy, courtyard, dining room and dayroom areas. Patients receive a minimum of three hours per day of therapy for five days each week, 24-hour nursing care, access to advanced technologies and frequent visits by a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician during their stay.

The grand opening celebration included a ribbon cutting and hospital tours. Remarks were delivered by Amber Hester, area CEO for Encompass Health; Vivian Thomas, Henry County Commissioner, District 4; and Lily Henson, CEO of Piedmont Henry Hospital.
