Beth Elder named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano

Beth Elder - CEOPLANO, Tex., June 1, 2022 - Beth Elder has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano, serving the greater Dallas area including Frisco and McKinney. In her position as CEO, Elder oversees all of the day-to-day operations, as well as patient care and quality, at the 83-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 2800 West 15th St. in Plano, Texas. She assumed the position in February 2022.

“Beth brings more than a decade of healthcare leadership experience to her new role at Encompass Health of Plano, including serving in previous leadership roles at other Encompass Health hospitals in Texas,” said Frank Brown, President of Encompass Health’s Southwest Region. “Beth is a dedicated leader with a passion for building meaningful relationships, fostering a positive culture, and connecting operational and organizational excellence. I am confident in her vision for the hospital and look forward to continuing to work with Beth in her new CEO role.”

Elder most recently served as Associate Administrator for four Encompass Health hospitals, including Encompass Health of The Woodlands in Shenandoah, Texas; Encompass Health Vision Park in Conroe, Texas; Encompass Health of Abilene; and South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of UMC and Encompass Health, in Lubbock, Texas. In this role, she focused on enhancing talent management, developed a readmission reduction program, and led quality and process improvement programs at multiple hospitals that increased patient discharges to the community and reduced acute care transfers. Elder previously served as Director of Quality and Risk Management at CHI St. Joseph Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate with Encompass Health, for nearly five years. Prior to joining Encompass Health, she served as quality coordinator and director of quality and support services at CHI St. Joseph Health Madison Hospital.

Elder completed her bachelor’s degree in economics and master’s degree in health administration, both from Texas A&M University. She earned her doctorate in health services from Walden University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Texas A&M MHA Alumni Association.
