Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls opened a new hemodialysis suite on November 12. The suite allows for patients to receive dialysis while completing inpatient rehabilitation, which provides a gentler treatment experience, decreases fatigue and increases patients’ ability to fully participate in therapy sessions.
“The process to open this dialysis suite started in 2021,” said Beth Sarfaty, chief executive officer of Encompass Health of Tinton Falls. “This has been a team effort, and we look forward to providing dialysis treatment right here at our hospital for patients who need it.”
With the addition of the in-house dialysis suite, which includes two state-of-the-art Tablo machines operated by skilled nurses, Encompass Health of Tinton Falls is uniquely positioned to treat inpatient rehabilitation patients requiring dialysis care. Patients will no longer need to receive dialysis treatment at an off-site location. This offering allows the hospital to provide comprehensive care to dialysis patients, ensuring their safety, comfort and improved clinical outcomes.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees viewed the dialysis suite to learn more about the care offered. Assemblywoman Dr. Margie Donlon, legislative district 11, also presented a proclamation from the state legislature recognizing the extensive planning process to implement the dialysis suite and the steadfast commitment of Encompass Health of Tinton Falls to serve patients.
“This is a unique and added bonus for patients to have access to dialysis treatment without having their rehabilitation interrupted,” said Donlon. “I’m grateful Encompass Health put forth the effort to make this a reality.”
At Encompass Health of Tinton Falls, patients receive a minimum of three hours of therapy five days a week, 24-hour nursing care, access to advanced technologies and frequent visits by a physician during their stay.
