Hospital happenings

After suffering his second stroke, Bob came to us for inpatient rehabilitation, focused on balance and decreased fine motor skills in both of his hands.

April is National Occupational Therapy Month. At Encompass Health, we know occupational therapy is a critical service for patients who have experienced a loss of independence through some sort of disturbance to their health and wellbeing. At Encompass Health, OT engages patients in activities of daily living that are meaningful to them, with the goal of returning them to independent lives filled with activities they love.

After suffering his second stroke, Bob came to us for inpatient rehabilitation, focused on balance and decreased fine motor skills in both of his hands. Though Bob was initially skeptical about his progress, he soon exceeded even his own expectations! With the help of Tori, his occupational therapist, Bob was able to get back to being able to complete wood working tasks, which was one of his biggest goals during his rehab stay. Bob also hopes to return to the golf course soon and is so thankful for the care he received while at Encompass Health. #OTMonth
