More than two million Americans live with limb loss or limb difference, and more than 28 million are at risk of amputation surgery. The Amputee Coalition designated April as Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month to educate others about what it is like to live with limb loss and limb difference.
Arnold came to us at Encompass Health MountainView at Bridgeport after a below the knee amputation of his left leg. As part of his pre-prosthetic training, Arnold has experienced multiple dressing changes, as well as daily application of ace wraps for shaping of his residual limb with Stacie, his physical therapist. Throughout his time with us, Arnold has proven to be hard-working and motivated, often encouraging other patients to achieve their maximum potential during their therapy sessions.
Arnold’s goal is to be ready to drive his charter bus by the time football season starts, and once he receives his prosthetic limb, we believe he will be well on his way to achieving this goal!
