Abelino Suarez began his battle with COVID-19 in June. He was admitted to the hospital and required ventilation support then tracheostomy for respiratory failure. Mr. Suarez required further hospitalization at a long-term acute care hospital to stabilize his respiratory status.
After his long hospitalization he was very weak and could not sit on the edge of the bed on his own. Mr. Suarez admitted to our rehabilitation hospital and after a three week stay, he was able to walk down the hallway and out of the front door to return home with his family.
