Late last year, Devon Spivey suffered a rare heart condition, which led to him spending more than a month in the ICU and eventually amputations of both legs. During his recovery process, Devon participated in inpatient rehabilitation at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cincinnati where part of his therapy included learning to walk again.
Devon and Dr. Holly Pajor, amputation and prosthetic program director at Encompass Health of Cincinnati, discuss his journey to recovery. Dr. Pajor also shares the benefits of inpatient rehabilitation, including care from an interdisciplinary team and personalized care plans for each patient.
