Keith McCall made a remarkable recovery after months battling COVID-19 and a rare neurological disorder

Keith McCall recently made a remarkable recovery after months battling COVID-19 and a rare neurological disorder called Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS). Keith spent months in the hospital, including a month on a ventilator, before coming to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cincinnati. Jillian Markus, a physical therapist at Encompass Health of Cincinnati, shared that Keith had minimal mobility when he came to Encompass Health: “He could use his right arm minimally but needed assistance to feed himself. He couldn’t roll out of bed and needed to be lifted with a Hoyer lift. He was really weak, really impaired, when he got to us.” After weeks of intensive therapy, Keith left Encompass Health not only able to walk again, but also drive again.
