WOBURN, Mass., Sept. 13, 2021 – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of New England in Woburn moved to private rooms for all patients beginning September 8. The hospital now offers 87 private rooms for inpatient rehabilitation patients recovering from a serious injury or illness.

Encompass Health of New England in Woburn previously offered a combination of private and semi-private rooms to patients. Hospital leadership identified the opportunity to move to all private rooms by reconfiguring the use of existing space and closed units thereby maximizing the square footage of the hospital.

Encompass Health of New England offers a variety of services to patients needing rehabilitation, including amputees, hip fractures and other orthopedic conditions, joint replacement, stroke, cardiac conditions, spinal cord injury, and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis. The multidisciplinary rehabilitation team includes physicians, registered nurses, case managers, and dieticians, who combine the latest technologies and individualized treatment plans to help patients progress toward independence. Patients receive at least three hours of comprehensive therapy for five days each week, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, and around-the-clock nursing care.
