Josette Myers named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River

Josette MyersTOMS RIVER, N.J., Aug. 10, 2022 – Josette Myers has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Toms River. In her position as CEO, Myers oversees all day-to-day operations, as well as patient care and quality, at the 98-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 14 Hospital Drive. She assumed the position in July 2022.

“Josette has served in various leadership roles in her nine years at Encompass Health, and she has been an incredible asset to our team. I am excited to welcome Josette to her new role as CEO of Encompass Health of Toms River,” said Pat Tuer, President of Encompass Health’s Northeast region. “I am confident in her vision for the hospital and look forward to the contributions she’ll continue to make in her expanded leadership role.”

Myers has had a long and successful career with Encompass Health over the years. She started with Encompass Health in 2013 as a Director of Business Development at Encompass Health of Mechanicsburg and then at Encompass Health of York for two years until she was promoted to an Area Business Development Director. In 2017, she accepted the position of CEO in Mechanicsburg and after five years of service as the CEO in Mechanicsburg, she transferred to Toms River, New Jersey as CEO and was awarded the title of Area CEO of Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, in addition to her CEO role.

Prior to her time at Encompass Health, Myers was the Vice President of Marketing, Community Relations, and Development for Memorial Hospital in York, PA where she worked in the areas of customer experience, physician relations, community health and wellness, strategic planning and marketing, and development. She is also an adjunct professor at York College and has served on numerous community boards including United Way, American Heart Association and the Memorial Health Fund. Her work in the business development sector of the medical field and years of experience have prepared her well for her new position at Encompass Health Toms River.

Myers earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Penn State University, and a master’s degree in journalism, public relations and advertising from Temple University.
