ABILENE, Tex., September 29, 2022 – Boyd Davis III has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene. In his position as CEO, Davis oversees all day-to-day operations, as well as patient care and quality, at the 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 6401 Directors Parkway in Abilene, Texas. He assumed the position in August 2022.

Davis has been an integral part of Encompass Health since 2010.  Originally from Ohio, he has served in various leadership roles in home health, inpatient, and outpatient settings. In his most recent position, Davis served as CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls. Before serving as CEO in Wichita Falls, Davis served as acting CEO and associate administrator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson. Prior to his role at the inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Tucson, Davis served as community care coordinator at Enhabit Home Health in Tucson, Arizona, previously known as Encompass Health Home Health of Tucson.

Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in education and human development for physical education from Bowling Green State University. He also earned a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Findlay and a master’s degree in health administration from Ohio University.  Davis served as Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gold Coat in 2021 and Wichita Falls YMCA board member.
