Father spends more than 100 days recovering from COVID-19, returns home to dance with daughter


Daryl Fields recently returned home from Encompass Health of Abilene after spending more than 100 days in the hospital recovering from COVID-19, including nearly 70 days in inpatient rehabilitation.

COVID-19 survivor spent four months in ICU, begins inpatient rehabilitation at Encompass Health


Daryl Fields spent the last four months in the ICU battling COVID-19, where he was put on ventilator and medically induced coma. He does not remember his hospital stay from July to October, but recently was able to begin his final stage of recovery at Encompass Health of Abilene.

Todd Wallace named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene


Todd Wallace has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene. In his position as CEO, Wallace will oversee all of the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 6401 Directors Parkway. He assumed the position on July 1, 2021.
