April Ballentine is learning to walk again with the help of therapists at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital nine years after a domestic violence shooting left her paralyzed from the waist down. April and her Cardinal Hill therapist Kori Ivanchak have been working with a device called a ReWalk exoskeleton since July. April says she is motivated by a specific goal: walking her daughter, Autumn, down the aisle at her wedding with the exoskeleton, but without physical therapist Kori Ivanchak’s help. The wedding date is set for November 12, and her therapist Kori feels confident they will reach her goal. April says “It’s not about me. None of this is about me.
