MIAMI, Fla., Oct 12, 2022- Tarif “TC” Chowdhury has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami. In his position as CEO, Chowdhury oversees the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 20601 Old Cutler Road. He assumed the position in August.

Chowdhury brings nearly 13 years of experience in various healthcare settings to his new role. He most recently served as Interim CEO at Encompass Health of Miami from June 2022 until accepting his new role as permanent CEO. Chowdhury first joined Encompass Health in December of 2021 as an associate administrator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Martin Health in Stuart, Florida. In this role, he participated in the Developing Future CEO’s (DFCEO) program and oversaw Marketing, Quality and various other departments. Prior to his time with Encompass Health, Chowdhury worked as an interim market chief nursing officer/market assistant chief nursing officer for Bayfront Health of Brooksville and Bayfront Health Spring Hill in Florida. From 2010 to 2017, he served in various clinical positions within Largo Medical Center of Largo, Florida, before being promoted to Director of Cardiac Services and Critical Care in January of 2018.

Chowdhury earned both his bachelor’s in nursing and master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University, as well as two associate’s degrees from St. Petersburg College in Nursing and Arts.
