Chief Executive Officer
With more than 20 years in healthcare consisting of both clinical and operational roles, LaDessa brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque. LaDessa has served in a variety of leadership roles including associate administrator, and director of therapy operations consisting of inpatient operations and outpatient areas. Prior to joining our Albuquerque team, LaDessa served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Richardson. LaDessa has a clinical background in occupational therapy. She has a doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals, a master’s degree in business administration and healthcare management from Western Governors University, and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Medical Director
Dr. Long graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical School and completed his PM&R residency at Letterman Army Medical Center.
Dr. Long graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical School and completed his PM&R residency at Letterman Army Medical Center. He was instrumental in the transfer of the residency program to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. There he was the assistant director of the residency program and director of the first inpatient rehabilitation service in the United States Army. Following Walter Reed, he served as the medical director of the Rehabilitation Institute at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, where he remained for 32 years.
Dr. Long is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Pharmacy
With over more than 30 years as a registered pharmacist, Ed has held various staff and leadership positions throughout the Albuquerque area. Most recently, prior to joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque, he served as the director of pharmacy at UNM Sandoval Medical Center. Ed received his doctorate degree in pharmacy from the University of New Mexico School of Pharmacy.
Director Quality/Risk
Janice, a native New Mexican, is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of nursing experience, including 20 years as a nurse leader. Janice graduated from the New Mexico State University and the University of Phoenix with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Prior to joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque, she served as a manager of quality/risk/infection control at the University of New Mexico and Sandoval Regional Medical Center.
Director of Human Resources
Kristen brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque. Prior to joining Encompass Health Hospital, Kristen was an interim HR Director/HR Generalist for Lovelace Health System. A native New Mexican, Kristen earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in human resources from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico.
Director of Facilities Management
Tony, a native New Mexican and U.S. Air Force retiree, brings more than 20 years of experience working in healthcare facilities and plant operations. Tony is a licensed high pressure boiler operator in the state of New Mexico. He is also a member of the Indoor Air Quality Association.
Controller
Michelle, a native New Mexican, graduated from the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Business, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. She is a certified public accountant and has a background in public accounting. Prior to joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque, she worked at UNM Hospitals as a director of finance. Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Director of Case Management
Maureen brings 10 years of experience as a registered nurse and more than five years of leadership to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque. Prior to joining Encompass, she was the manager of utilization review at Presbyterian Health plan. She holds a master’s degree in nursing through Western Governors University and is completing a master's degree in business administration in healthcare management through WGU as well.
