Michelle leads the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral team as CEO. She most recently served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, for nearly three years. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Michelle served in numerous leadership roles at UMASS Memorial Health Alliance Hospital for more than 24 years. A licensed physical therapist with almost three decades of healthcare and leadership experience, Michelle completed her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at Simmons College in Boston and her master’s degree in healthcare administration at Worcester State College. She is certified in Yellow Belt LEAN management and by FEMA in National Incident Management System for Health Care.

Cynthia is the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. Dr. Willingham earned her medical degree at the University of Arkansas and completed her residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. Additionally, she completed a PM&R residency at Medical University of South Carolina. She has experience serving as medical director at rehabilitation centers in Arkansas, Iowa, and Mississippi. Dr. Willingham is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Willingham is an independent private practice physician.

Amy serves as the director of case management at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin Platteville and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to her time with Encompass Health, she spent more than 10 years in acute and post-acute care as a medical social worker and case manager. Amy also led teams as director of case management with Select Specialty Hospital-Madison, Wisconsin and as regional manager for care management with Ascension NE Wisconsin - St. Elizabeth Campus. Amy is passionate about serving our patients and ensuring patients are successfully discharged through our interdisciplinary processes.

Gaston serves as the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. A licensed physical therapist for almost two decades with seven years of leadership experience, he joined Encompass Health Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital in Evansville, Indiana in April 2014. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Universidad Andres Bello, a master's degree in physical therapy from Universidad Andres Bello and a master's degree in business management from Universidad Adolfo Ibanez. Most recently, Gaston earned a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Shenandoah University in 2020.

Chea serves as director of quality and risk at Encompass Health Cape Coral. She brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to the team including over five years of risk management. An Indiana native, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ball State University. Chea is also certified as a professional in healthcare risk management with the American Hospital Association.

Mary brings 15 years of Healthcare human resources experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. She relocated to Southwest Florida from St. Louis MO, where she earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri – St Louis. Mary’s passion in human resources is growing and cultivating an engaged team of patient-care providers and believes in taking care of employees so they can take care of patients.

Dana joins Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral as chief nursing officer. She has more than 30 years of nursing experience with 15 years of healthcare leadership experience in a variety of clinical settings. She earned her master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Akron.

Sophia serves as director of pharmacy at Encompass Health Cape Coral. Sophia brings more than 10 years of pharmacy experience to the team with time spent at ShorePoint Health in Port Charlotte and Physicians Regional Medical Center. She completed her pharmacy residency in infectious diseases from Stoney Brook University Medical Center in Stoney Brook, New York and her clinical pharmacy residency from Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse, New York. Sophia earned her doctor of pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University.

Marc joins Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral as facilities management director. He previously held the same role at our Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of York in York, Pennsylvania. Marc brings more than 20 years combined experience in residential and commercial construction management to his role. In addition, Marc has management experience in research and development and logistics operations.

Larry brings more than 40 years of accounting experience to our Encompass Health Cape Coral team with over 20 years of healthcare finance experience. Most recently, Larry served as controller for one of Florida’s largest physician practice and surgery center. Larry earned his master’s degree in accounting from St. Thomas University and bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University. He is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Diana serves as the business development director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral. Diana has 30 years of experience in the healthcare market with a vast knowledge of healthcare business, professional development and clinical services. Prior to joining Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa in 2021, she worked for Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital as an occupational therapist and then transitioned to clinical rehabilitation liaison. Drawing on her healthcare and marketing experience, she leads a team to identify care needs for our patients and healthcare community.
