Chief Executive Officer
Rick joined MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health in 2021 as CEO. Prior to this role, Rick held various leadership positions in the post-acute, acute care, academic medicine and outpatient settings including CEO of University Hospital’s Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Kindred Healthcare in Cleveland, Ohio, administrative director for the Neurological, Spine and Pain Management Institutes at University Hospitals, department administrator for the Division of Pain Management at Cleveland Clinic and five additional years spent in continuous improvement/program management roles at the Cleveland Clinic. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and manufacturing systems engineering from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business administration with a healthcare focus from Baldwin Wallace University.
Medical Director
Dr. Westerbeck brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise, along with a profound dedication to advancing patient care and fostering a supportive working environment for all staff. He is particularly excited to continue growing our joint venture with MUSC Health in the community. This partnership allows us to leverage the expertise and resources of both institutions to better serve the healthcare needs of our patients. Dr. Westerbeck received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he served as Chief Resident.
Business Development Director
Stacey currently serves as our business development director at MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital. She has been a nurse for 27 years with 24 of those concentrated in marketing and sales. She is also very accomplished in the home infusion and home health space. Stacey received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Controller
Katrina holds a master’s degree in business administration and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She comes to MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, with 23 years of progressive healthcare accounting and auditing experience, including hospital and physician practice controller experience.
Director of Therapy Operations
Gregory has served as the director of therapy operations at MUSC Hospital of Rehabilitation of Charleston since 2024. Greg’s previous role was as physical therapist team lead at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah. Due to Greg’s extensive inpatient experience and leadership, he transitioned to the director of therapy operations. Greg brings a wealth of experience that focuses on patient care and outcomes. Greg received his bachelor’s degree in business from University of San Diego in 2008 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2015.
Chief Nursing Officer
Amanda brings over 12 years of healthcare management expertise to MUSC Charleston, an affiliate of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. A Virginia native, Kidd graduated from the University of Virginia with a master’s degree in nursing as an acute care nurse practitioner, also performing that role for five years. Kidd began her career as a certified nursing assistant, before becoming an associate and baccalaureate prepared registered nurse. Amanda has over 20 years of total healthcare experience and is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), critical care certified, Nurse Executive Advanced certified, Just Culture certified and a lean six sigma black belt.
Director of Case Management
Wendy comes to Encompass Health with 28 years case management experience in various acute care settings to include Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Vibra Long Term Acute Care Hospital and Hospice both inpatient and home setting. She is a graduate of Columbia College in Columbia, SC with a degree in social work. Wendy was recently nominated for case manager of the year for the Charleston/Tri-County area. In her spare time, Wendy enjoys boating and spending time with her family.
Senior Director of Quality and Risk Management
Caitlin has served as the director of quality and risk management at MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital since 2022. She previously served in the same role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Bluffton. Her extensive inpatient rehabilitation experiences have uniquely positioned her to lead quality initiatives and sustain performance in the hospital setting. Caitlin holds her bachelor's degree in biology from Covenant College and her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Facilities Management Director
Chad comes to Encompass Health from the behavioral healthcare market where he accumulated over 25 years of experience in various leadership positions in the areas of facility operations, quality assurance, risk management, health information systems, utilization management, admissions and marketing. A Michigan native, Chad obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology from Michigan State University and relocated to South Carolina in 1997 to complete his master’s degree in education from the College of Charleston.
Human Resources Director
Julie has an extensive background in human resources with over 22 years leading effective teams, overseeing staff development and education activities, ensuring her organizations meet all compliance and regulatory requirements and much more. She’s held several key positions at various organizations including associate relations manager at Roper St. Francis Healthcare, human resources director at Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health, manager, employee relations and staff development at Hilton Head Regional Healthcare, human resources generalist at Hilton Head Regional Healthcare and four additional roles. Julie has supported organizations with workforce sizes ranging from 180 employees to over 6,000 employees. Julie graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany with her bachelor's degree in English and later went on to receive her master's degree in science for teachers from Pace University. Originally from New York, Julie has lived in South Carolina since 2002 and currently resides in Summerville.
Director of Pharmacy Operations
Keely joined MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital in 2017 and began her role as the director of pharmacy in 2024. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the MUSC/USC South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2015 and her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Clemson University in 2010. Keely has worked in the pharmacy field since 2005. A native of Upstate South Carolina, she moved to Charleston in 2011. She continues to support her alma mater by precepting pharmacy students throughout each year.
