Located in Dallas, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Chief Executive Officer
Yuemeng Dai, MD, PhD, completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and brain injury medicine fellowship training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Dai is a board-certified physiatrist by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Dai is an active member of American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Texas Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Society, American Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and American Association of Chinese Rehabilitation Physicians.
Dr. Dai is an independent private practice physician.
Zia Ali has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare with public, private and non-profit organizations. Prior to Encompass Health, Zia held various leadership roles including director of finance, controller, finance manager and internal audit manager. Zia is a Certified Fraud Examiner and holds certification with the American Case Management Association. He received a business of administration degree at the University of Karachi and went on to receive his master’s degree in business administration at the University of Southern California.

Jay has more than 35 years of experience in facilities management and has worked in various settings including acute care, inpatient, long-term care and behavioral health hospitals. Prior to joining Encompass Health Dallas, he was the senior director of plant operations at SW Long Term Care. Jay is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of support services and is committed to life safety.

Dexter Hodge joined Encompass in 2005 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Texarkana. His experience includes 15 years in the rehabilitation setting, development of educational content specific to rehabilitation and national trainer for our safe patient mobility program. Dexter has worked at multiple levels in rehabilitation nursing and in April 2020, he completed the CNO development program and was transferred to Dallas. Dexter holds a bachelor's degree in nursing and is on track to earn his MBA from Texas A&M University-Texarkana (2021). He is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN®).
