Our amputation rehabilitation program is designed to help you navigate the physical and emotional challenges that come with limb loss through expert support, therapy and care. Our dedicated team will develop your personalized care plan, working closely with you to help you reach your personal goals, regain your functional abilities and prepare for a return to the activities you enjoy.

What’s included in your amputation rehabilitation
Your rehabilitation plan will be tailored to your individual needs, based on your unique circumstances, including the type of amputation, your previous activity level, overall health and personal goals. Some services you may expect to support your physician and emotional recovery include:
Physical and occupational therapy: These therapies focus on strengthening your body, improving mobility, balance, endurance and range of motion to help you regain independence. You will receive three hours of therapy services five days a week.
Wound and residual limb care: Specialized care to promote healing of your stump and maintain healthy skin supporting the best possible outcome for your recovery.
Pain management: We understand that pain is a part of recovery. Our team will help you manage and address pain, working with you to find the most effective treatments and therapies.
Prosthetic training: Once you receive your prosthesis, we’ll help you learn how to use it safely and effectively. This includes fitting and shaping the residual limb, learning to walk with your prosthetic, and maintaining it properly.
Activities of daily living (ADL) Support: We’ll assist you in learning new ways to perform everyday tasks, from dressing and cooking to returning to work or hobbies.
Emotional support and counseling: Losing a limb is an emotional journey, and we are here to support you with counseling and emotional care to help you cope with grief, body image changes and the psychological effects of limb loss.
