Chief Executive Officer
David assumed the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview in October 2022. He joined the Encompass Health team in 2011 and has worked in multiple locations and positions in the company. He started out his career as a physical therapist in Topeka, Kansas working with a wide variety of diagnosis in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. David graduated with his doctorate of physical therapy in 2011 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his master's degree in business administration in 2021 from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Medical Director
Dr. Tony Abang has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview since 2004. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Indiana School of Medicine. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as in pain management. He served as interim medical director in 2010-2011 and accepted the role full-time in 2013. He was named Encompass Health’s “Medical Director of the Central Region” in 2013 and 2017 in recognition of the excellent patient outcomes, patient, and staff satisfaction under his leadership. He is very active in the community, supporting multiple charitable organizations, including volunteering on the Hosparus Board. Tony and his wife, Leah, who is a pharmacist in the community, reside in Elizabethtown with their three children.
Dr. Abang is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Quality & Risk
Allison brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to Encompass Health. She began her career with Encompass Health in 2000 working in the therapy department. She has a wealth of clinical experience and expertise in a variety of settings, with her true passion being in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. Allison returned to Encompass Health Lakeview in February 2022 as the director of quality and risk. She is involved in the hospital's performance improvement teams, ensures proper compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies, as well as implementing quality reviews and initiatives. A native of Elizabethtown, Allison attended Western Kentucky University and University of Louisville where she graduated with a degree in physical therapy.
Human Resources Director
Tasha joined Encompass Health in August 2017 as the director of human resources. She currently manages the human resources department at both our Jackson, Tennessee and Elizabethtown, Kentucky locations. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance. Tasha brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources with 16 of those in healthcare human resources. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Controller
Scott brings more than 17 years of accounting experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview. He received a bachelor's degree from the Western Kentucky University. Scott was born and raised in Grayson County and currently resides in Clarkson with his wife and two children.
Director of Pharmacy
Dr. Cara Hobbs has been with the hospital since 2005. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Cumberlands and her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. She has served as the central regional director of pharmacy for the company and has participated in several teams and projects to improve the safe use of medicine for patients.
Business Development Director
Christy is a proficient healthcare business and operations leader, with more than 20 years' experience specializing in provider relations and directing client-facing teams and services. Christy brings her passion for excellence and an individualized approach to meeting clients’ needs to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview, where she and her liaison teams proactively ensure the relevancy and value of our services for both, internal and external customers.
Chief Nursing Officer
Amy has been a part of the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview team of nurses since 2015 and has served in several roles including nursing supervisor and interim chief nursing officer in 2018 and 2021. She took on the role of CNO in 2021. Amy started her career with Encompass Health in the outpatient therapy setting as a therapy tech while in college on the path to be a physical therapist. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and health education in 2003 from Middle Tennessee State University she worked in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. In 2013, she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Austin Peay State University in 2013. After working in the rehabilitation field two years, she achieved her CRRN and is currently working towards her master’s degree in nursing education. In her free time Amy enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking with her family.
Director of Therapy Operations
Valerie Matney, OTD, joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview in January of 2018, bringing clinical expertise in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings and leadership experience in acute and sub-acute settings. She earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Belmont University and brings a passion for excellence in patient care using evidence-based interventions with a compassionate personalized approach to rehabilitation.
Facilities Management Director
Levi has more than 16 years of experience in maintenance and construction projects. He has led and directed the strategic planning and project oversight of grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, commercial and residential construction, safety and risk management and environmental services. Levi is a Kentucky native and a longtime resident of Hardin County. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.
Director of Case Management
Angela has been a case manager in the rehabilitative hospital setting since 1995. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Angela became a certified case manager in 2013. She has worked at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview since 2011. Angela believes being a patient advocate is one of the most important parts of being a case manager.
