Chief Executive Officer
Joe is responsible for the day-to-day operations at St. Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, bringing over 20 years of healthcare experience to his role. He began his career in healthcare with Aetna’s Campus division administering the Region 6 Campus/Tricare Program. He later moved to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas/TrailBlazer Health as director of finance in the administration of the Medicare Program in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, D.C , Delaware and Virginia. After seven years as controller at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock, Joe relocated his family to Boise, Idaho. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Joe is passionate about ensuring patients and families have an exceptional experience when receiving care from the team at St. Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.
Medical Director
Dr. David Wald has practiced medicine for 18 years. He served as medical director for ten years at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL which was recognized for best practices in inpatient rehabilitation. He has presented at national and regional conferences for AMRPA and UDS. He is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist, completing his residency at Emory University School of Medicine and his medical degree at New York Medical College.
Dr. Wald is an independent private practice physician.
Business Development Director
Carl joined the team in 2022 and has worked in and around the Saint Alphonsus health system for more than 10 years. Initially, working as the orthopedic and sports medicine coordinator, then transitioning to design and implementation of a DME program across the entire health system. This ignited his new passion in business development. With over 20 years of experience as a certified athletic trainer he received a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming in kinesiology and aging and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and athletic training from Humboldt State University. He brings with him years of award-winning business development skills and health care experience at a multitude of levels and settings.
Director of Therapy Operations
Joy has been a practicing speech-language pathologist since 2008 after receiving a master's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has been with Encompass Health since January 2024. Joy prioritizes our patients and their care above all else. As the director of therapy operations, she empowers her staff to motivate, inspire and advocate for our patients, ensuring they receive the high-quality person-centered care they deserve. Joy brings years of leadership experience to Saint Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital and endeavors to be a difference maker.
Case Management Director
Quentin is a board-certified case manager who has more than 10 years of experience in healthcare with a focus in counseling, case management and discharge planning. Quentin also holds a master's degree in clinical counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and a master’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Megan has more than 20 years of experience in rehabilitation at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at Boise State University and a master's degree in business administration, health care management from Western Governors University. Additionally, she holds certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and is a member of AANAC, ARN – National and Idaho chapters, ANA- National and Idaho chapters, ACHE, and Nurse Leaders of Idaho (an AONE affiliate).
Facilities Management Director
Eric Sutton has been in the healthcare industry for 10 years with the last five years being in plant operations management and has been involved in many successful Joint Commission surveys. Prior to the healthcare industry, Eric spent 20 years in the construction management then moved to Boise and joined the Saint Alphonsus Regional Rehabilitation Hospital team as the facilities management director. His responsibilities include EVS, plant operations, safety and security.
