Chief Executive Officer
Matt has held healthcare leadership roles since 2008 and has previously served in several CEO roles at long-term acute care hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia, Kansas City, Missouri, Nashville, Tennessee and Aldie, Virginia. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Methodist University and holds three master's degrees in health administration, business administration and healthcare Informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Medical Director
Dr. Munir is a board-certified physician with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a sub-specialty in pain medicine. He is also board-certified with the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. In addition to his work as a physiatrist, he is also a certified physical therapist. Dr. Munir completed his residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and his doctorate of medicine was earned from Sind Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan.
Dr. Munir is an independent private practice physician.
Facilities Management Director
Christopher started with Encompass Health Chattanooga in February 2022. He worked at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concord in New Hampshire from 2004 - 2021 and brings more than 16 years of experience in facilities management within a rehabilitation hospital environment to the team. During his previous tenure with Encompass Health, Christopher trained under the area facilities management director and served as the senior maintenance mechanic for 10 years. In 2018, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from Southern New Hampshire University and earned an IT Google certification in 2021.
Director of Therapy Operations
Theresa has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga since 2003. She graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1996 and received her master's degree in occupational therapy from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2000. Theresa also serves as an associate regional DTO for the Encompass Health MidAtlantic region and has been on the Therapy Leadership Board since 2014. She has completed training in neuro developmental treatment, which focuses on neurological handling approaches in the assessment and treatment of rehabilitation patients with diagnoses such as stroke, brain injury and other neurological disorders.
Director of Quality and Risk
Kristy has served in healthcare leadership roles since 2004 and joined Encompass Health in 2021. She graduated with a master’s degree in business administration in 2015 then completed a postgraduate certificate in health administration from Belhaven University. Additional education includes a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Covenant College and associate’s degree in respiratory care from Chattanooga State. Kristy is a certified lean six sigma green belt and active American College of Healthcare Executives member.
Chief Nursing Officer
Trish has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga since 1998. She graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in registered nursing in 2005 and from Chamberlain School of Nursing with her bachelor’s degree in 2019. She held many positions within the hospital before becoming the chief nursing officer including therapy technician, phlebotomist, admissions clerk, receptionist, staff nurse, charge nurse, and patient assessment standards coordinator. Trish also received a specialty certification in rehabilitation nursing in 2007 and is recognized as a CRRN, and has since successfully completed recertification every 5 years.
Director of Human Resources
Teesha started with Encompass Health in October 2017. She has worked in human resources since 2006. Her healthcare industry experience includes hospice and critical access hospitals. Teesha graduated from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn in May 2005 with her bachelor's degree in business administration. She obtained her professional in human resources certification from the HR Certification Institute in November 2015.
Controller
Karen has 16 years of healthcare experience. She began her career as a purchasing agent and then advanced to a staff accountant, where she managed expenses for the hospital and a surgery center. She received an associate's degree from Chattanooga State and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Covenant College.
Director of Case Management
Sandra started with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga in May 2018. She has 35 years of nursing experience with 21 of those years serving as a leader in nursing management. She originally graduated from Dalton State College in 1983 with her associate’s degree in nursing and obtained her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2008. Sandra furthered her education in 2013 by obtaining a master’s degree in healthcare administration. She has also attained Certified Professional Healthcare Quality and Accredited Case Manager certifications. Throughout her career, Sandra has served in various healthcare management roles including director case management, chief nursing officer, clinical house supervisor, director clinical informatics and nurse manager.
