Leadership Columbia, a Columbia Chamber program, presented by BlueCross® BlueShield® of South Carolina, for emerging and existing leaders in the Midlands, is pleased to announce the Leadership Columbia Class of 2024.

Hospital happenings

After attending a community event with friends, Shirley Horine, a retired first grade teacher, contracted COVID-19. She was treated at a local hospital, but the virus left her weak and she was unable to return home safely. Shirley was transferred to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbia to help her gain her independence. “I did not want to leave because I felt so comfortable,” Shirley recalled. “I would tell anybody to go there.”
