What to expect

We are here to guide you through your rehabilitation every step of the way.

Preparing for inpatient rehabilitation

As the nation’s leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation, our hospitals can treat a variety of conditions and offer the services needed to help you regain your highest level of independence.

We provide a hospital level of care to tend to any advanced medical needs you have along with intensive therapy to help you build up your strength and abilities to get back to what matters most to you.

Your stay – before, during and after

Before
As you prepare for your discharge from the hospital, our liaison will work with you and the acute care hospital to transition you to our rehabilitation hospital. We will work closely with you and your loved ones to have a smooth transition, giving you the information you need so you feel confident and prepared.
During
Our multidisciplinary team will develop a personalized care plan to help you reach your goals. You will receive three hours of therapy a day, five days a week. You will also have 24/7 nursing care and frequent physician visits.
After
Your case manager will help prepare you for discharge by helping to ensure you have the equipment and community resources you need. Our goal is to support you and your family for life after your inpatient rehabilitation stay, so you can move forward with strength and as much independence as possible.

Your day at a glance

Every patient is different, and their care plan and daily activities will be, too. The following are a few things you can expect throughout your day.

  • Expect at least 15 hours of therapy a week, which will be spread out throughout the day on weekdays and/or weekends. This takes place individually or in a group setting.
  • You will have 24/7 nursing care. Your nurses will help with any medical needs, including medication administration and pain management.
  • We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can take your meals in the dining room or your room. Our dietitians can help with any dietary needs you might have.
  • A rehabilitation physician will visit you three times a week to evaluate your progress. Depending on your need, you may also have access to specialty physicians.
