Chief Executive Officer
Sonja was named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville, a partner of Washington Regional, in October 2023. Sonja brings more than 20 years of diverse clinical experience and a wealth of managerial skills to Encompass Health Fayetteville. She is experienced in many facets of rehabilitation healthcare including acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, pediatrics with emphasis on school age populations, home health and long-term care focusing on dementia management. Sonja consistently advocates for her patients and ensures they receive the top level of care. In addition, she prides herself on continual professional development for her rehabilitation staff. Sonja is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she received degrees in occupational therapy and psychology. She resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her husband.
Medical Director
Dr. Hunt graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2014 and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Hunt joined Encompass Health in August 2018.

Chief Nursing Officer
Jessica joined Encompass Health in 2016 as a bedside nurse and has held roles as a house supervisor and nurse manager in addition to earning her CRRN before becoming chief nursing officer. As CNO, she is committed to developing and implementing patient-centered care that prioritizes compassion, empathy and respect. In addition to a commitment to clinical excellence, she strives to create a supportive and engaging work environment for nurses, advocating for their professional development, well-being and the recognition of their invaluable contributions.
Director of Therapy Operations
Jerry began his career as a physical therapist at Encompass Health Fayetteville in 2013. He quickly discovered his passion for treating stroke patients, acquiring his neurodevelopmental treatment certification in 2017. Jerry was promoted to physical therapy team lead in 2018 and remained in that role until he was named director of therapy operations in December 2023. Jerry enjoys gardening and outdoor sports and lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and children.
Business Development Director
Brandia has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience with an emphasis in business development. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s degree in human resource development from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Brandia joined the leadership team at Encompass Health Fayetteville in September 2018.
Director of Pharmacy
Clint Johnson has overseen pharmacy operations at Encompass Health Fayetteville since January 2019. He has more than 10 years of experience as a pharmacist, receiving his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Hendrix College. He has worked in most healthcare settings, including long-term care, hospital and retail pharmacy, with management experience in each area.
Human Resources Director
Tim joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitaiton Hosptial of Fayetteville leadership team in 2021. He brings with him more than 25 years of leadership experience with the last 15 years in healthcare human resources operations and benefits. Tim has a passion for servant leadership and helping others find a healthy and equitable balance between their personal and professional pursuits. He attended Missouri State University where he received two undergraduate degrees and his master's degree in healthcare administration in 2008.
Director of Quality & Risk
Julie has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a partner of Washington Regional since 2009. She has served in many roles, including CNA, unit clerk and HIMS supervisor. Her patient care and management experience lend to her passion for patient safety and overall experience. Julie graduated from Northwest Arkansas Community College with an associate degree in health information management and joined the Fayetteville leadership team in August 2022.
Controller
Corey joined the Encompass Health Fayetteville leadership team in June 2019. Corey is an Arkansas native and brings more than 19 years of financial management experience. She graduated in 2000 from Ouachita Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Stroke & Neuro Director
Dr. Tremwel practices as a stroke neurologist and serves as medical director of Washington Regional Medical Center's Comprehensive Stroke Program. Dr. Tremwel, who has been in practice as a stroke neurologist since 2001, earned her medical degree from the University of Florida, where she also completed her neurology residency. She completed a fellowship in cerebrovascular disease and stroke from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Tremwel joined Washington Regional in 2014 as the medical center expanded its neuroscience services to include advanced treatment options not available elsewhere in the region.
Dr. Tremwel is an independent private practice physician.
Facilities Management Director
Adam joined Encompass Health in 2012 as a maintenance mechanic. He completed the Encompass Health Plant Operations Manager training program and was promoted to director of plant operations in February 2018.
Director of Case Management
LeeAnn joined Encompass Health Fayetteville as a bedside nurse in 2012, later transitioning to a nurse supervisor role. She also obtained her Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification during that time. LeeAnn transferred into our case management department in 2019 and became a certified case manager prior to her promotion as director of case management. She also serves as a member of our Joint Commission Certified Amputee and Stroke Rehabilitation teams. LeeAnn lives with her husband and children in Northwest Arkansas.
