Encompass Health announces the opening of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fitchburg, a 56-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 5535 Nobel Drive. The hospital serves patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

Dorothy “Dodi” Purtell has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fitchburg. The hospital is a 56-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction at 5535 Nobel Dive in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and is expected to begin caring for patients in November 2023.

Bruce was admitted to Encompass Health Fitchburg due to multiple medical conditions. Upon arrival, he was focused on his goals to get stronger and go home independently. His treatment plan was personalized to integrate his specific needs, and he quickly met his goals through hard work and persistence. He discharged from our hospital with confidence, ready to continue his health journey at home. When asked about his stay, he shared, "I have learned so much here from all of you. I can't even begin to explain how good this has been.”

Hospital happenings
Encompass Health Fitchburg enjoyed spreading cheer and brightening our patient's day by giving them tie-dye shirts. Stephanie was admitted to our hospital after a hip fracture. Stephanie was always positive during her stay, and her fun attitude helped inspire tie-dye Tuesday. All patients received a tie-dyed T-shirt made by our controller, Heather, which really brought a lot of color and happiness to everyone. Upon discharge, Stephanie had these wise words to share: "Take care of yourselves and love yourselves the same way you take care of and love your patients." It was a pleasure having her, and we all wish her the best on her continued recovery!
