Chief Executive Officer
Matt has previous CEO experience at Encompass Health hospitals in Chattanooga and Northern Virginia. He has held healthcare leadership roles since 2008 and has served in several CEO roles at long-term acute care hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia; Kansas City, Missouri; Nashville, Tennessee; and Aldie, Virginia. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Methodist University and holds three master's degrees in health administration, business administration and healthcare informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Medical Director
Dr. Craig joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin after serving as the medical director of Van Matre Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockford, Illinois, for 11 years. A magna cum laude graduate of Loyola University, he completed his medical studies at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Craig completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at Marionjoy Rehabilitation Hospital-Clinics. He is board certified in PM&R and pain medicine. Dr. Craig is a two-time recipient of the HealthSouth Medical Director of the Year Award.
Dr. Craig is an independent private practice physician.
Controller
Len joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin in June 2023. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Len worked as director of finance for a health and wellness company in Brentwood. He has held various regional finance and corporate accounting positions with healthcare companies for more than 10 years. Len is active in the community through coaching his sons’ youth teams and volunteer finance roles with their schools and community organizations. Len holds an accounting degree from Lipscomb University.
Human Resources Director
DeCarla joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin in September 2024. She has over 11 years of combined experience as a human resources manager and business partner. She holds a bachelor's degree in management and human relations from Trevecca Nazarene University and a master's degree in business management with a concentration in human resources management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She enjoys working with employees at all levels.
Director of Pharmacy
Ashley joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin in November 2015. She has worked in different facets of pharmaceutical care since 2000. Ashley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy.
Business Development Director
Beth joined Encompass Health as a speech-language pathologist at Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in 2013. During 2018, she made the transition to the role of clinical rehabilitation liaison in which she worked to develop relationships and referral sources with healthcare facilities throughout the Middle Tennessee market. As business development director, Beth manages the business development team and provides leadership for patient admissions while fulfilling the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin mission. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University, a master’s degree from Valdosta State University, and an MBA with a concentration in health services from The University of Alabama Birmingham.
Director of Therapy Operations
Sheila Davy, OTR/L, has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin since 1997. Prior to accepting the role of director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Franklin, she worked as a member of the therapy and managerial team with Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation. Her experience spans across a variety of patient experiences and diagnoses. Sheila has been involved in program development and treatment of the neurologically impaired patient with her passion being stroke care and education. She is an advocate for quality patient care, patient satisfaction and professional development of staff. Originally from New Orleans, Sheila holds degrees in business administration from Baylor University and occupational therapy from Tennessee State University. She calls Franklin, Tennessee, her new southern home and is proud to serve the residents of the Franklin community.
Facilities Management Director
Since 2013 David has served Encompass Health as a senior maintenance tech, maintenance manager and serves now as the facilities management director. He was one of the founding staff at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin. David has almost 30 years of experience in facility maintenance: 13 years having worked in healthcare and 15 years in residential and commercial heating and air conditioning. He is also a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.
Chief Nursing Officer
Dina is a graduate of The University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Nursing. She has over 20 years of progressive leadership roles in various areas in the acute care setting. Dina joined Encompass Health Franklin in 2022 as the nurse manager and was named chief nursing officer in January 2024. Dina takes pride in developing relationships with her staff as well as a strong team. She also enjoys building strong patient and staff satisfaction rates.
Director of Case Management
Jennifer joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin's case management team in October 2017. She previously worked as a case manager at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis. Jennifer’s clinical interests include the stroke and brain injury population. She assisted in the disease-specific certifications for brain injury and stroke at Encompass Health Memphis, and here at Encompass Health Franklin she assists in stroke. She is a certified case manager and holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee-Memphis. She currently is working on a degree in business in healthcare management. Jennifer is most passionate about providing resources and continuity to ensure a smooth transition home for her patients and families.
Director of Quality & Risk
Susan joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Franklin in October 2021 as the hospital’s director of quality & risk. She is a versatile healthcare professional with more than 30 years of experience in leadership, strategic planning, operations, business development, organizational management as well as direct patient care. More than 19 of her years of experience include various roles with Encompass Health hospitals across multiple states. Susan received her associate degree in physical therapy from Chattanooga State Technical Community College and a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from College of Misericordia.
