Jonathan McAnulty serves as the chief executive officer at West Tennessee Healthcare Rehabilitation Hospital Cane Creek in Martin, TN. He joined Encompass Health in 2017 as the director of quality and risk management in Jackson, TN. During this time, he completed his Masters of Business Administration from Bethel University in 2020. Receiving his bachelor's degree in health and human performance in 2005 from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Jonathan began his healthcare career in marketing and medical sales. In 2011, he earned his Masters of Occupational Therapy from the Tennessee State University. Jonathan began his occupational therapy career at West TN Rehabilitation Center as the lead therapist on the inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation team while also serving in acute care, neonatal and outpatient rehabilitation settings.

Susan was named CEO of Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in March 2022 after having served in two previous positions with Encompass Health. She was the CEO of Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital and prior to that position was the associate administrator at MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in the developing future CEO program. Susan has almost 20 years of clinical and leadership experience, including her role as director of inpatient acute, post-acute and outpatient rehabilitation services. She received a bachelor’s degree in health science, as well as a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Gannon University. Susan also holds a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy specializing in administration and practice management from Rocky Mountain University in Provo, Utah.

Angela came to the University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital from The Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, formerly Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dayton, where she served as an associate administrator. Angela brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to the University of Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital. In addition to her clinical background, Angela also brings a knowledge of quality and risk management, and several years of hospital operational and executive leadership. She is a Kentucky native, and has an associate’s degree in respiratory sciences from the University of Louisville, a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, and a master’s degree in business administration from Ottawa University.

Etene joined Encompass Health in 2022 as the associate administrator. With more than 23 years of experience in healthcare leadership, She holds a master’s degree in business operational excellence from The Ohio State University Fischer College of Business, and a second master’s degree in health care administration from University of Phoenix. Etene is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Prior to joining the Encompass Health family, she worked at The OSU Wexner Medical Center in wound care and hyperbarics, bariatric surgery, weight management and bariatric surgical quality. She also worked at Ohio Health with the endocrinology department physician practice. Etene also co-authored “Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Obesity in Adults”

Blake Bunner is the CEO at Encompass Health, formerlyHealthSouth, Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital in Evansville, Ind.. Blake has been with Encompass Health since 2009 and has served in other senior leadership roles for the company. Prior to Encompass Health, Blake served as chief operating officer for a multi-state nurse staffing firm. He is a three-term elected official and current president for a county fiscal body which set budgets and manages tax incentives. Blake currently serves as the president of a non-profit transportation company serving seniors and has been a board member of that organization since 2006. He is actively involved in youth sports and is the director of a church-based sports program. Blake earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree in business administration from Western Governor’s University Indiana.

Dodi brings more than 20 years of healthcare management expertise to the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fitchburg. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. She received her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix. She has served as a leader in multiple areas of rehabilitation including outpatient, subacute care and inpatient rehabilitation.

Scott Peterson, MPA, is the chief executive officer. He comes to Encompass Health Franklin from nearby Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital where he has served as associate administrator since 2013. Scott has served 10 of his 14 years of healthcare experience with Encompass Health. He earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degrees from Cornell University and a graduate certificate in health policy and management from the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service.

Julie Taylor is a West Tennessee native growing up in Puryear, Tennessee. The majority of her 25 years of experience has been in post-acute rehabilitation across a diverse range of settings across West Tennessee including skilled nursing, home health, pediatrics and inpatient rehabilitation. In 2002, Julie earned her Assistive Technology Practitioner certification and has performed many custom wheelchair evaluations during her career. Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. In 2017 she earned her MBA at Bethel University.

Barry has been with the Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital since May of 2013, working within the nursing and marketing departments. Most recently he served as our hospital’s director of quality & risk, prior to his recent promotion. He also served as the hospital’s director of marketing operations. Barry holds a master'a degree in healthcare administration, as well as dual bachelor's degrees, one in health promotion from Emporia State University and the other in nursing from Washburn University. He is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse® (CRRN) and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society.

David assumed the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeview in October 2022. He joined the Encompass Health team in 2011 and has worked in multiple locations and positions in the company. He started out his career as a physical therapist in Topeka, Kansas working with a wide variety of diagnosis in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. David graduated with his doctorate of physical therapy in 2011 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his master's degree in business administration in 2021 from Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Gemma started her career with Encompass Health in 2008 as an inpatient physical therapist. She earned both her bachelor’s degree in health science and her master’s degree in physical therapy from Northern Illinois University. She is a spinal cord injury specialist and a certified case manager. Gemma served in many roles in her tenure at Van Matre Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute, including outpatient therapy team lead, director of case management and director of therapy operations, before transitioning to the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Libertyville in June 2023. Gemma strongly believes that successful patient outcomes are built upon an engaged workforce that is dedicated to getting patients back to their community and prior level of function.

Toni graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and began her clinical career at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis immediately following graduation. She worked as a staff therapist and team lead until she was promoted to director of therapy operations in 1998. Toni received her certification in the treatment of adults with hemiplegia through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association in 1997.

Tiffany joined the Mid America Rehabilitation Hospital team in 2003. She has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including leadership positions as director of marketing and director of quality and risk management. She earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy from Northwest Missouri State University and received her master’s degree of healthcare administration from Park University.

Angela is the chief executive officer at The Quad Cities Rehabilitation Institute. She has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. She has a strong knowledge of quality and risk management, and operational and executive leadership experience. Angela’s tenure with Encompass Health began in 2019 at The Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, a joint venture between Premier Health and Encompass Health. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ottawa University and an associate’s degree from the University of Louisville in respiratory sciences.

Monica was appointed CEO in January 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing in 2009 and her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2010. Monica joined Rusk Rehabilitation Hospital in June of 2011 and is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse. Monica’s clinical background includes brain injury, stroke and spinal cord rehabilitation. In 2014, Monica received her master’s degree in executive nursing administration from the University of South Alabama. Monica enjoys helping patients enhance their quality of life.

Cassidy is the chief executive officer at The Rehabilitation Institute of Southern Illinois. She has more than 15 years of experience with healthcare organizations. Most recently, Cassidy worked at Memorial Care Center in Belleville, IL where she led a team of more than 150 employees in the 82-bed facility. Cassidy received a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2007 and a master’s degree in healthcare administration in 2010. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2012 and a member of the Illinois Healthcare Association since 2011.

Shivani joined The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in 2007 starting her career at TRISL as a physical therapist and has served in a variety of hospital leadership roles. Shivani completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, graduating in 2004. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in 2007.

Jeffrey was named CEO on Sept. 18, 2017 for Vanderbilt-Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital, where he served as the interim chief operating officer for six months prior. Since 2010, Jeff has served as administrative director of operations for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt Outpatient Imaging Services, Rehabilitation Services and Nutrition Services. He also shared oversight of five Vanderbilt imaging center ventures for adult and pediatric patients. Jeff earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph's College and is a Certified Radiology Administrator of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators and a Registered Technologist in Radiography of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Joseph brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to Rehabilitation Hospital of Bowie. He has served in progressive leadership roles throughout his career, including quality and risk management and executive nursing leadership. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. He also holds master’s degrees in both healthcare and business administration.

Britta came to Encompass Health from Wellmont Health System in June 2015 as the director of quality and risk. With more than 26 years in healthcare, her experience includes quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, IT, regulatory compliance and infection prevention. Britta also was the administrator for the NeuroScience Service line where she helped developed a Joint Commission-certified stroke program. She has served for many years as an examiner for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence and as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program. In 2007, Britta led the Wellmont Health System to win the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence Award. Britta has served multiple years as a board member for United Way of Greater Kingsport. She received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from East Tennessee State University with a double minor in physics and finance.

Matt has held healthcare leadership roles since 2008 and has previously served in several CEO roles of long-term acute care hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia, Kansas City, Missouri, Nashville, Tennessee and Aldie, Virginia. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Methodist University and holds three master's degrees in health administration, business administration and healthcare Informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Anand has 15 years of experience as a physical therapist and obtained his doctorate in 2019. He recently earned his master's degree in business administration from Virginia Tech in 2021. He also has more than 12 years of leadership experience in post-acute services.

Troy Clark, FACHE, has served as the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Kingsport since 2014. In September 2019, he was also named as CEO for The Rehabilitation Hospital of Bristol, a Joint Venture of Ballad Health and Encompass Health. He has served as vice president, chief operating officer and other leadership roles with Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He is a certified healthcare executive and fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Troy received his bachelor's degree in cardiopulmonary studies from the University of South Alabama and master's degrees in business administration and health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Mark Rader has 26 years of health care experience, including 16 years of CEO leadership. He earned his master’s degree in health administration from Duke University and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Radford University. In addition, he has served on the board of directors for numerous public and private organizations.

Vidhya joined Encompass Health in June 2010 and has served in various therapy leadership positions and as the director of therapy operations at the hospital in Northern Virginia. In addition to completing the self-paced CEO program within Encompass Health, she has led multiple high impact projects successfully and served in the inclusion and diversity council. Vidhya’s clinical background includes a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Shenandoah University and more than 18 years of experience serving in clinical and operational roles in varied healthcare settings. She takes pride in leading an exceptional team of staff who strive for excellence while focusing on restoring patients independence and promoting safety through evidence-informed practices.

Nathan began his career with Encompass Health in 2012 at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, Alabama. He started as a staff RN before climbing the nursing leadership ladder. In 2016, Nathan became the chief nursing officer and served in that role until his transition to the associate administrator role at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga in 2018. Most recently Nathan served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shelby County, in Pelham, Alabama. Nathan received his associate degree in nursing from Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City and received his bachelor's degree in nursing as well as his master's degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Downers Grove, Illinois. He is also a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

John was named chief executive officer of Encompass Health Hospital Petersburg in March of 2022. John’s career has spanned multiple states, where he opened new inpatient facilities and improved the outcomes of existing facilities. His leadership in post-acute care services resulted in earning a #1 nationally ranked facility for value-based care for three consecutive years; and he has led multiple facilities to national recognition by US News & World Report for quality of care outcomes, annually. John credits these successes to a deliberate focus on patient-centered outcomes and employee engagement. Most recently, he has served in senior leadership roles for the largest hospital system in North Carolina within both the medical group and inpatient facility operations, where he made significant improvements to quality outcomes, operational efficiency, productivity and other performance outcomes. John earned his master's degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management from Liberty University. He also holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield. John is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Veteran of the US Marine Corps and has served on several boards of directors for various public and civic organizations.

Rob Adams joined Encompass Health in January 2020. Rob is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and earned his master’s in business at Milligan College. Rob is a veteran of the United Sates Marine Corps and has 14 years’ experience in health care. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Rob worked at Ballad Health where he served in a wide range of administrative and operational roles in the areas of diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, security services, emergency department services, quality and performance improvement processes, plant operations and emergency management.

Jim joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Richmond as the chief executive officer in November 2023. He started his healthcare career in 1991, initially serving as a hospital safety officer. Prior to joining Encompass Health, he held the position of vice president of operations and ethics and compliance officer at HCA’s Medical City McKinney in McKinney, Texas. As CEO, Mr. Miller is entrusted with overseeing all day-to-day operations of the hospital. This position is accountable for planning, organizing and directing the hospital to high-level patient outcomes within a safe and compliant environment. Mr. Miller’s education background includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Radford University and a master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a board-certified Healthcare Safety Professional. Beyond professional pursuits, Mr. Miller passionately advocates for individuals facing crises. He has actively collaborated with Caritas to provide shelter for the homeless and served on the Board of Directors for both the Community Food Pantry of McKinney and Life Path, which offers support to families struggling with a mental health crisis.

Scott has been the hospital’s CEO since 1998. He brings with him more than 30 years of healthcare experience. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in management, with a minor in finance from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and a master’s degree in business administration from Saint Francis University. A life-long resident of Altoona, Scott is a graduate of Altoona Area High School. 

Cindy joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree with more than 30 years of clinical and healthcare management experience. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Cindy served as chief operating officer at OSS Health in York, Pennsylvania. A Massachusetts native, she received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and her master’s degree in healthcare professions from Northeastern University. She is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Sharon has nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare, with the majority of her career spent in acute inpatient rehabilitation. She has held progressive positions as occupational therapist, stroke program leader, occupational therapy clinical leader, and has been a member of the senior leadership team as the director of therapy operations at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland since 2012. She serves on the quality advisory committee at MaineHealth Care at Home, currently holds the position as legislative chair for the Maine Occupational Therapy Association and is a member of the Maine Stroke Alliance. She is a seasoned professional whose commitment to extraordinary patient care is foremost in her role as a clinician and as a leader. Sharon is a graduate of Quinnipiac University.

Amy joined Encompass Health in June 2023 as chief executive officer. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Amy brings more than 30 years of clinical and leadership experience in healthcare. Amy holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh, a master's degree in nursing from Gannon University, and a doctorate in nursing practice from Duquesne University. A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Amy also maintains licensure and board certification as a clinical nurse specialist in adult health.

Peter brings a wealth of clinical and healthcare leadership experience to his role as CEO. Prior to joining Fairlawn, he served as the associate vice president for UMass Memorial Health’s hospital at home program. Before that, he was the associate chief nursing officer for field hospital operations for UMass Medical Center (UMMC). In that position, he worked with federal, state and local officials to create and manage a 250-bed field hospital to care for nearly 1,000 COVID-19 patients from the greater Worcester area. He was also UMMC’s director of cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional services and manager of the emergency and life flight departments. He previously worked as a staff nurse for 20 years at several area hospitals. Peter is a 26-year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. His service included multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he served as a chief nurse, unit commander and leader of a golden hour offset surgical trauma team. In addition to overseeing a 20-person clinical team treating critically injured servicemen and women in a range of combat scenarios, he coordinated evacuation efforts to separate patients from conflict and administer critical treatment in high intensity situations.

Lorie has served as chief executive officer at Geisinger Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital for the past 14 years. Prior to her current position, she practiced as a certified speech/language pathologist for 17 years after graduating from Penn State University with a master’s degree in communication disorders. Lorie’s previous experience includes serving as the neurological program director and director of the speech department at Encompass Health Mechanicsburg, and operating a private practice in Connecticut and New York states. Lorie is an active member of the Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (PARF), the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania and numerous community organizations.

Michelle brings 26 years of healthcare leadership expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville. A Greensburg native, she graduated from Seton Hill College with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She received a master’s degree in business administration from California University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from the University of Pittsburgh. Michelle served as CEO of an acute care community hospital for 18 years and as the interim CEO for a for profit behavioral health hospital. She is honored and excited to begin her new journey at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville.

Kristen joined Encompass Health of Mechanicsburg in 2021 as an executive in the Encompass Health CEO development program. She began her career at Encompass Health Henderson in Nevada in 2003 as a physical therapist. She became the director of therapy operations in 2008. Kristen has held many interim roles on the Encompass Health leadership team including director of home health, director of case management, director of quality and CEO. Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree in science and a master's degree in physical therapy from Stockton University. Prior to joining the Mechanicsburg team, Kristen was on the advisory board for the University of Nevada Las Vegas Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program and adjunct faculty member at Touro University Nevada for physical and occupational therapy programs.

Mat joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Middletown in July 2014 after having spent the first 10 years of his career in various acute care leadership roles. Promoted in 2018 to Area CEO, Mat now supports our hospital operations in Reading, PA, Vineland, NJ and Portland, ME in addition to maintaining day to day oversight of Encompass Health Middletown. Mat received his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Tennessee and his master's degree in healthcare administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since joining Encompass Health, he has enjoyed supporting the community by serving on various leadership boards with organizations such as the American Heart/Stroke Association, the Arthritis Foundation and the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce.

Amy first joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley in 2003 after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from the Pennsylvania State University. Amy earned 10 years of care management experience before being promoted to the case management director in 2015.  In that role, she led the interdisciplinary team, ensuring exceptional services were being delivered and the needs of patients and families were met. In April 2020, Amy rose to the position of CEO, and oversees all of the hospital’s day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality initiatives. Amy lives in Bellefonte with her husband and two sons.

Nab has 26 years of healthcare experience and has worked in numerous industries ranging from pharmaceuticals to for profit and not for profit hospitals. Prior to joining NERHP, Nab opened the first Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital for Nobis Rehab Partners in Dublin, OH. Prior to inpatient rehab, Nab served as an CEO for Select Columbus East and as Interim CEO for Select Columbus South Long Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACH). Nab also has experience in physician recruitment, relations as well as working with independent physician groups. Nab has also worked in the short term acute care space on service lines.

Judy Parker assumed the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Reading in May 2021, having most recently served as the associate administrator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Braintree. She has more than 30 years of healthcare experience. Judy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from University of Phoenix, a master's degree in leadership/crisis management from Grand Canyon University and an education doctorate in health care leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Leah brings more than 25 years of healthcare management experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, including experience in acute care hospitals, acute inpatient rehabilitation, long-term acute care and hospital operations in Pittsburgh and New Castle. She has held a number of progressively responsible management positions including chief nurse, vice president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer. Leah is actively engaged in a number of professional organizations, community initiatives and government relations activities that positively impact the delivery of rehabilitation services to patients and families. She has contributed to articles that have been published and is often recognized for her community involvement throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. Leah received her doctorate degree in 2010. She is committed to seeing that patients who receive rehabilitation care receive the best outcome.

Alisha joined Encompass Health of Toms River in 2021 as the chief nursing officer and brings more than 13 years of leadership experience. While in the CNO role, Alisha was also enrolled in the CEO development program. A Pennsylvania native, she began her nursing career in 2003 and has held a variety of nursing and operations leadership roles including clinical nurse director, director of quality, director of finance operations and labor management and chief nursing officer. Alisha earned her master’s degree in nursing leadership from Walden University, is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, and is Board Certified as a nurse executive.

Monica assumed the role of CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in July (2020) having most recently served as an independent healthcare consultant and as the regional CEO for a long term acute care hospital organization. She has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in the areas of administration, program management, consultancy, case management and nursing. Monica, a registered nurse, holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University as well as a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in business administration from Widener University.

John joined Encompass Health in January of 2016 with almost 30 years of experience in the rehabilitation field in both clinical and administrative roles. In addition to acute inpatient rehabilitation, he has worked in outpatient, acute medical and private practice. John has served as a rehabilitation clinical consultant regionally and nationally with a focus on patient care and superior clinical outcomes. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

David brings more than 32 years of health care expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of New England of which ten years have been at the senior management level. He received his undergraduate degree in education from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in physical therapy from Boston University. David became the CEO at HealthSouth New England Rehabilitation Hospital in December 2017, after serving as the director of marketing operations.

Josette joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg in 2013 and served as the area director of marketing at Encompass Health Mechanicsburg and York. Prior to that, she was the vice president of marketing, community relations and development at Memorial Hospital in York where she worked in the areas of customer experience, physician relations, community health and wellness, strategic planning and marketing and development. Josette has worked in the healthcare management field for more than 20 years. She is also an adjunct professor at York College and has served on numerous community boards including United Way, American Heart Association and the Memorial Health Fund. Josette has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a master's degree from Temple University.

Denise Murray assumed the role of CEO in April 2017. She came to AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital from Community Hospital Corporation where she served as chief executive officer for a long term acute care hospital in North Carolina. Denise has more than 22 years of hospital leadership experience with the majority of it being in acute and long term acute care for not-for-profit organizations. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Gardner Webb University.

Wayne is an accomplished hospital operator who has served in healthcare for 24 years. He has served in multiple hospital environments including for-profit systems and not-for-profit systems, as well as short term acute care and post-acute care. Wayne most recently served as the CEO of ContinueCARE Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to relocating to South Carolina, Wayne served as the CEO of Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia. Wayne's other prior roles include serving 12 years with Tenet Healthcare where he served as an associate administrator and later as chief operating officer at Atlanta Medical Center, a two-campus, 762 bed, level 1 trauma center. Wayne holds a master's degree in business administration from Mercer University, and a bachelor's degree in management from the University of Phoenix. He is also a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Rick joined MUSC Health Medical University of South Carolina Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health in 2021 as CEO. Prior to this role, Rick held various leadership positions in the post-acute, acute care, academic medicine and outpatient settings including CEO of University Hospital’s Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Kindred Healthcare in Cleveland, Ohio, administrative director for the Neurological, Spine and Pain Management Institutes at University Hospitals, department administrator for the Division of Pain Management at Cleveland Clinic and five additional years spent in continuous improvement/program management roles at the Cleveland Clinic. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and manufacturing systems engineering from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business administration with a healthcare focus from Baldwin Wallace University.

Nicole joins Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbia with over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience in the acute care hospital setting most recently the system chief operating officer of Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC. In her previous roles as COO of Regional Medical Center, AdventHealth Polk and Bartow Regional Medical Center, Nicole directed operations for a wide variety of hospital services, including cardiology, oncology/ infusion therapy, orthopedics, rehabilitation, imaging services, and the development of new ambulatory services including physician practices, free-standing emergency departments, ambulatory surgery centers and multi-million-dollar hospital expansion projects. Nicole also served as vice president of operations at Belton Regional Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. She earned her bachelor’s degree in speech pathology/audiology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and her master’s degree in health administration from Saint Louis University.  She is a fellow with the American College of Health Care Executives.

Rick serves as CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cumming and has more than 30 years of leadership experience, serving as CEO and other senior leadership roles, for hospitals in Georgia and Florida. He previously served as a Market CEO of two specialty hospitals in the Atlanta area. Prior to that, he held the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for a 436-bed hospital system in Columbus, and Vice President of Operations for a 781-bed hospital system in Pensacola. Rick holds a master’s degree in healthcare management from Troy University, a bachelor’s degree in construction from the University of North Florida and an associate degree in pre med/engineering from Alice Lloyd College.

John joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Florence in January 2024 as the chief executive officer. He is an experienced healthcare leader who has served in various administrative leadership positions over his 30-year career in healthcare. Most recently, John served as chief executive officer for Community Hospital Corporation at one of their long-term acute care hospitals in South Carolina and before that, he was chief executive officer at another one of their hospitals in Kentucky. John holds a master’s degree in business administration from Keller Graduate School of Business as well as a master’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

Scott Butler serves as the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Rock Hill. He has held multiple senior-level healthcare leadership positions for more than 15 years including COO of TLC Health Network in New York and CEO of Select Specialty Hospitals in both Indiana and Florida. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a master's degree in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology. Scott is a transformational leader who is known for developing teams of high performers and cultures that lead to exceptional patient experiences. As CEO, he understands the importance of leading by example and representing the organization’s core values in everything that he does.

Joshua comes to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Greenville with more than 10 years’ of healthcare leadership experience in hospital operations and business development. Prior to transitioning to his current role with Encompass Health, Joshua was the CEO of a long term acute care hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, where he and his team had many achievements including a Hospital of Excellence Award and Quality Excellence Award in 2020. He was also an honoree of the 2020 Central Penn Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award. Joshua earned a bachelor’s of science degree in sports management: health and wellness from California University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Ohio University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and sits on the national American Heart Association Post-Acute Care Writing Committee. Amber Hester is an area chief executive officer, overseeing operations for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry. Before assuming her current role in mid-2021, she served as the chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Gulfport since March 2017. Hester also has experience as the chief executive officer of two long term acute care hospitals in the Boston market. She started her career with Encompass Health working in various accounting and leadership roles at the home office in Birmingham, Ala. from 2005 – 2012. She attended Auburn University and studied marketing and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration with an accounting concentration.

Stan is an experienced healthcare executive with leadership in community hospitals, tertiary hospitals and multi-hospital markets. Stan has a strong background in employee engagement, quality improvement, operational performance improvement, financial performance and physician relations. Prior to joining Encompass Health, he served as the chief operating officer of Renuven Health Partners, a physician clinic specializing in providing medical coverage to over 19 skilled nursing facilities. In addition, Stan served as chief executive officer and president for Ballad Health’s Southern Market where he had responsibility for nine hospitals and led the coordination of care, integration of resources across the markets and improved operating margins and quality. He has also served as president of Northside Medical Center in Columbus, GA; executive partner at Advisory Board Company; chief operating officer and vice president at Palmetto Health Richland; and several other senior roles within hospitals and health systems. Having served in both investor-owned and no-for-profit health systems, he is known for creating effective teams, developing strong and effective relationships, excellent communication, being approachable, establishing strategic direction and improving performance. He is committed to creating an engaging workplace culture and organization, valuing the contributions of others, and striving to improve the delivery of healthcare to patients and service to physician partners. Stan earned his bachelor's degree from College of Charleston and his master’s degree in healthcare administration from Medical University of South Carolina.

Tony joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City as chief executive officer in 2003. He began his career in rehabilitation in 1991 as a chief financial officer in South Florida. Tony graduated from the University of West Florida in 1983 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and earned his master’s degree in business administration in 1997 from New York Institute of Technology.

Kayla came to Encompass Health Gadsden from Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Montgomery where she served as an associate administrator. Her experience also includes serving as controller at Encompass Health Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital and in various roles with Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital in Katy, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Huntington College and her master’s in business administration from Tulane University.

Michelle is the chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Rock Hill since January 2024. She joined Encompass Health in 2022 and started in Montgomery, Alabama. Michelle brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience, with over 15 years of hospital management and leadership. Prior to transitioning to Encompass Health, Michelle was the chief executive officer at Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Hershey, PA. Michelle is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Michelle earned her master's degree in occupational therapy and her bachelor's degree in general studies, with a minor in psychology from Misericordia University.

Randall Joined Encompass Health in 2022 bringing more than 20 years of healthcare experience. He began his career with the United States Navy, serving as an ocean systems technician analyst and later as a military police officer. He started his healthcare career as a nurse and has since served in multiple roles, including most recently as regional CEO, overseeing post-acute care hospitals and outpatient clinics in Panama City, Gainesville and Pensacola regions. Randal completed his associate degree in nursing from Pensacola Junior College, his bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama, and his master’s degree in business administration from Liberty University.

Tom joined Encompass Health in September 2019 as CEO of Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital and has transitioned to Florida to open the St. Augustine hospital. Tom previously held a variety of healthcare roles which included clinical analyst, director of quality and director of imaging and rehabilitation services. A licensed physical therapist with 20 years of leadership experience, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and his master’s degree in physical therapy from Kansas University Medical Center.

WD Heath joined Encompass Health in 2023. WD brings more than 16 years of executive healthcare management experience in both the acute and post-acute care setting and over 23 years in healthcare leadership. WD previously served as a CEO overseeing post-acute care hospitals within the Central Mississippi market. WD started his career in radiology and was the corporate director of imaging services for a large healthcare system in Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama. Additionally, WD was the executive director and service line administrator of imaging services for the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He has held multiple leadership positions within academic, not-for-profit, for-profit and faith-based healthcare systems within Mississippi and the Southeast. WD holds a master’s degree in healthcare leadership from the University of Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in the radiologic sciences from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executive and is designated as a fellow within that organization as a board-certified healthcare executive.

Carey was named CEO of Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital in May 2018, bringing more than 18 years of experience as a physical therapist and healthcare leader to the role. Before assuming the CEO title, she served as the inpatient rehabilitation hospital’s director since 2014 and as a senior physical therapist at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital from 2004-2014. She received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from the University of New England. Ms. Swanson is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and holds membership with American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.

Eric joined Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2014 as chief executive officer. Prior to coming to Augusta, Ga., he held the regional director of therapy operations position for Encompass Health’s Southeast region, while also serving as the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Emerald Coast in Panama City, Fla. Eric has proven experience in the healthcare industry since 1999 that include both leadership and clinical positions within inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient settings. Eric graduated with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Tuskegee University and holds a master's degree in healthcare administration from Austin Peay State University.

Joanna has been the chief nursing officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Alexandria since June 2015, overseeing nursing, respiratory therapy, wound care, infection control, and dietary services. Prior to Encompass Health, she was the director of critical care services and served in other leadership roles in the critical care service line for 22 years. She obtained an associate's degree in nursing from Louisiana State University of Alexandria, a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northwestern State University, and a Master of Science in nursing and healthcare management from Loyola State University of New Orleans, La..

Luke has been with Encompass Health since 2015 and brings 15 years of healthcare experience. An Alabama native, he graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Luke received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and a master’s of business administration and master’s of health care leadership from Friends University.

Kyllan Cody joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of City View as CEO in May of 2021. Kyllan has 17 years of senior leader healthcare operations experience. Prior to her current role at Encompass Health, Kyllan served as a healthcare management consultant for NueHealth. Kyllan also served as administrator for Cook Children’s Surgery Center, vice president of operations at Methodist Charlton Medical Center and in various roles in acute care settings in Texas and Florida. Kyllan is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a master's degree in healthcare administration from Cornell University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Wake Forest University.

Kendra is the chief executive officer for the Piedmont Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. Sermarini brings more than thirteen years of clinical and leadership experience to her new role. She started her career with Piedmont in 2010 as a physical therapist before being promoted in 2013 to manager at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside. In 2019, she was promoted to administrator, rehabilitation services. In 2022 she was named CEO of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Columbus. Sermarini obtained a bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Georgia and holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

With more than 25 years in healthcare, consisting of clinical and operational roles, Sharon assumed the role of CEO in August 2022 and brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dallas. Prior to joining our Dallas team, Sharon served in a variety of leadership roles throughout her career including senior leadership positions in acute and post-acute settings. Most recently she served as the vice president of operations for one of the largest health systems in the U.S. A two-time graduate of Texas Woman’s University, she completed her bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, then obtained her master’s degree in business administration. Sharon is passionate in providing quality care to the patients we serve and that everyone has the best experience during their rehabilitation stay.

Margaret has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dothan for more than 18 years and brings more than 20 years of healthcare management experience to Encompass Health Dothan. She is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Margaret received her master’s degree in business administration from Troy University.

Sonja was named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville, a partner of Washington Regional, in October 2023. Sonja brings more than 20 years of diverse clinical experience and a wealth of managerial skills to Encompass Health Fayetteville. She is experienced in many facets of rehabilitation healthcare including acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, pediatrics with emphasis on school age populations, home health and long-term care focusing on dementia management. Sonja consistently advocates for her patients and ensures they receive the top level of care. In addition, she prides herself on continual professional development for her rehabilitation staff. Sonja is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she received degrees in occupational therapy and psychology. She resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her husband.

Dawn Watts was named chief executive officer on July 28, 2014 of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Smith. From April 2008 to July 2014, she served in a number of senior management positions with CHS formerly HMA of Florida including director for case/resource management, cardiopulmonary services and various medical/surgical units. From 2000 to 2008 Dawn served as the chief nursing officer for the Fort Smith hospital. During that time she served on the national board for Encompass Health nursing and as a regional CNO for two years. Dawn received her bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's in business administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Al is the chief executive officer for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden. He has more than 27 years of healthcare experience and started at Encompass Health Gadsden in October 2023. Al has worked in several different roles with Encompass Health including regional director of therapy operations and director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Gadsden and Encompass Health Lakeshore. He earned his bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his master's degree in business administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport.

Mark Studdard was named interim chief executive officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Gulfport in April 2021. Prior to joining Encompass Health , Mark served in several vice president roles at Magnolia Regional Health Center from 2004 - 2020. He received his bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition from Georgia Southern University and completed his clinical rotations at the University of Kentucky. Mark achieved his master‘s degree in administration from Northern Arizona University and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

With over 20 years in healthcare, Lesalee Chilcote brings experience in leading teams to achieve operational excellence and superior outcomes. Lesalee served as the director of pharmacy at Encompass Health in Hot Springs for five years prior to being promoted to the CEO position in November 2020. She earned her master’s degree in business administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in addition to her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Outside of work Lesalee enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, enjoying the beautiful Hot Springs outdoor life.

In 2021, Michael was named area CEO of Encompass Health Lakeshore and Encompass Health of Shelby County. He has served as Encompass Health Lakeshore’s CEO since July 2018. He previously served as CEO of Encompass Health’s hospital in Phenix City, Alabama, and as the associate administrator at the Company’s hospital in Sarasota, Florida. He also has experience serving as a director of a product line and a vice president of marketing and business development in acute care hospitals in California. Michael received a master’s degree in public health specializing in health administration from Loma Linda University and a bachelor’s degree in health science from Fresno Pacific University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.

As CEO for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities, Ashley brings over a decade of inpatient rehabilitation experience including direct patient care, business development and healthcare management. She has a passion for providing exceptional, high quality care to the community she serves. Born and raised in Texas, she graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center with her doctorate degree in physical therapy, and later went on to receive her master’s degree in business administration from Texas Women’s University.

Erin has served as the CEO for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Montgomery since January 2024. Erin began her career with Encompass Health in 2004. She served as a case manager and a rehabilitation liaison prior to becoming the business development director for 15 years. Prior to her current role, she served as the associate administrator at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, Alabama. She has a passion for patient care as well as leading teams. She brings experience from a range of post-acute settings, skilled nursing, acute and ancillary services.

Brent joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shreveport in December of 2020 as the hospital’s inaugural CEO. He has dedicated his entire, 23+ year career to healthcare and brings operational experience in acute care, ambulatory surgical care, imaging and inpatient surgery to his role. Before becoming CEO of Encompass Health of Shreveport, he served as the chief operating officer for Parkhill Health in Dallas, Texas. A proven healthcare leader, Brent completed his bachelor’s degree of science in business management and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Wray was named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano in October 2023. Wray was in Encompass Health’s Developing Future CEO program before becoming CEO at Encompass Health Plano. Prior to joining Encompass Health in 2022, Wray served in a variety of executive positions at large acute care hospitals. He completed his bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Oklahoma and his master's degree in business administration at the University of Dallas. Wray’s focus is continuously improving hospital processes and performance while exceeding expectations of staff, physicians, patients and visitors.

Lora was named chief executive officer of Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in July 2018 bringing more than 20 years’ healthcare leadership experience in long term acute care and non-profit acute care settings to the role. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from Georgia College and State University. In addition, she is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Meagan was named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Richardson in October 2023. Prior to joining Encompass Health, she served as assistant vice president for rehabilitation services at a large acute care hospital and has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership, operations and clinical experience. Meagan earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication sciences and disorders from Clarion University and her master of healthcare administration from the University of Scranton.

Zach has been appointed CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shelby County. Kirby began his career as a physical therapist and program coordinator at East Alabama Medical Center. In this role, he oversaw staff and students' training, placement and management. He also developed and coordinated services for patients receiving cancer treatment. Kirby then became the director of rehabilitation services in Durham, North Carolina for four years managing all daily operations of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation within the post-acute care center. Following this role, Kirby joined Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee, where he served as director of rehabilitative services, executive champion of environmental services and senior director of professional and support services. In this role, he led new business development plans that provided a capital growth of $12M and positive oversight that resulted in all departments scoring at the top quartile in associate loyalty and engagement. Kirby then joined Encompass Health as associate administrator at Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, where he managed daily operations and the hospital budget and improved the hospital’s position in company clinical ratings. While serving in this role at Encompass Health, Kirby also engaged in the developing future CEO program and exceeded all performance goals. A licensed physical therapist, Kirby earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Auburn University, his master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Physical Therapy Association.

Christopher joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shreveport in April 2021 as the director of therapy operations. Prior to his current role, he spent three years as a director of therapy services at a local inpatient rehabilitation hospital. A native of Shreveport, Christopher earned his doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2010 from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - Shreveport and a master’s in business administration from LSU - Shreveport in 2017. Christopher brings a wealth of therapy knowledge to the Encompass Health Shreveport team and has a passion for creating a positive workplace culture and bringing out the best in others.

Kristina joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sioux Falls team as chief executive officer in 2022, however she began her career with Encompass Health in 2010 as an occupational therapist in Plano, Texas where she also gained experience in case management and the PPS coordinator role. In 2016 Kristina was promoted to regional patient assessment standards coordinator and trainer for the southwest region. She served as the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Lakeshore beginning in 2019. Kristina obtained her master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Indianapolis and received her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Ohio.

David has served as chief executive officer of St. John Rehabilitation Hospital since August 2015. David first joined Encompass Health in 2001 as a registered nurse. He has spent the majority of his healthcare career within the rehabilitation and hospice settings. David has held various leadership positions within Encompass Health, including associate administrator of Encompass Health in Jonesboro, Ark. and chief nursing officer of Encompass Health in Midland, Texas. A graduate of Angelo State University, David completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing. David’s focus is to continuously improve the hospital’s performance to exceed the expectations of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians.

Brian has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare leadership and joined the Encompass Health Sherwood team as chief executive officer in 2021. He graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a master’s in healthcare administration and his FACHE in 2021.

Michael brings more than 15 years of healthcare leadership expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Altamonte Springs. He has held various leadership positions throughout his career in areas including acute care, inpatient and outpatient physical medicine, as well as home health and hospice. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, a master's degree in business administration through Aspen University and a doctorate degree from the University of St. Augustine Health Science Center. He also holds certifications in bioethics from Harvard University, strategic negotiation from the University of Michigan, green belt in Lean Six Sigma from the Global Institute and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Michelle leads the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cape Coral team as CEO. She most recently served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, for nearly three years. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Michelle served in numerous leadership roles at UMASS Memorial Health Alliance Hospital for more than 24 years. A licensed physical therapist with almost three decades of healthcare and leadership experience, Michelle completed her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at Simmons College in Boston and her master’s degree in healthcare administration at Worcester State College. She is certified in Yellow Belt LEAN management and by FEMA in National Incident Management System for Health Care.

Glenda brings a significant amount of rehabilitation knowledge and expertise to the Clermont team. She has been with Encompass Health for 13 years, beginning as a nurse at Encompass Health Sarasota. In that time, she has worked in various nursing leadership roles across several campuses, and recently participated in the company’s developing future CEO program at Encompass Health Altamonte Springs. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida along with a master’s degree in nursing leadership and an MBA from Saint Xavier University in Chicago.

Molly was named chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo in May 2021. She has seven years of healthcare executive leadership and more than 30 years of nursing expertise serving as the chief nursing officer at multiple acute care hospitals within various healthcare systems. She also served in many nursing and critical care leadership roles earlier in her career. Molly earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire and her master’s degree in business administration from Capella University in Minnesota.

Ruthmaris joined Encompass Health in 2005 and served as the director of therapy operations for more than a decade before becoming the CEO. She has more than 20 years of experience in the hospital industry, five of them in hospital management. She has worked in a variety of healthcare scenarios such as inpatient rehabilitation, trauma center and outpatient clinics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. Ruthmaris earned a master’s degree in gerontology in 2009 and a master’s degree in healthcare services administration in 2016. All of them from the Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico.

Ivette Miranda joined Encompass Health in October 2014 and brings more than 15 years of healthcare leadership experience to her role. Ivette graduated with a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master's of business administration from the University of Phoenix. Ivette's extensive experience includes acute care hospital leadership roles including chief operating officer, associate administrator and business office director. In addition, Ivette provided several years of healthcare consulting services to acute hospitals throughout the country.

Enid Gonzalez is the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples. In the past 20 years, she has held clinical and managerial positions in different healthcare settings such as acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, outpatient clinics and rehabilitation hospitals. Enid has a bachelor's degree in physical therapy, a master's degree in public health as well as a master's degree in health services administration, all from the Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico. She was a faculty member of the Graduated Physical Therapy Program, Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico and is currentlya member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, and American Hospital Association.

Michael has joined Encompass Health as the new CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Ocala. Michael brings more than 30 years of healthcare management to the team. He served as president and CEO of Atlantic General Hospital and Health System from October 2005 until November 2021. In that role, he established a unique, cyclical strategic planning process that incorporates the input of all the key stakeholders of the hospital and health system. This “customer-based” focus led to the successful development of programs such as the patient-centered medical home and the “ER 30 Minute Promise.” Prior to Atlantic General, Michael served as the chief operating officer of Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Old Dominion University and a master’s degree in health administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives,

Daniel has served as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of San Juan since 2007. He served as president and CEO of Casa Primavera Inc. and held various management positions at Pavia Health Inc., including service as an associate administrator and interim administrator for hospital operations at the Pavia Hato Rey Hospital, an acute hospital with 160 beds. He was also assistant general manager of San Jorge Children Hospital, a 125 bed hospital. He earned a master's degree in health services administration from the University of Puerto Rico’s School of Public Health.

Marcus joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota in 2010. He is responsible for the hospital's day-to-day operations. Prior to his time at Encompass Health Sarasota, Marcus served in leadership roles at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sunrise and several leadership roles at St. Lucie Medical Center on the east coast of Florida for 14 years. Marcus completed his undergraduate studies at Stonehill College in Massachusetts, received his master's degree at Arcadia University as well as a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University.

Prior to his appointment to Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital, Mark was the chief executive officer at North Shore Medical Center in Miami, FL, where he led his team to achieve The Joint Commission's Thrombectomy Stroke Center Certification as the first hospital in Miami-Dade, design and construction of a new 16-bed forensics unit to serve Florida Department of Corrections patients, reinvigorated the bariatric surgery program as well as numerous other initiatives. Mark was the chief operating officer at Palmetto General Hospital and was the lead COO for Tenet Healthcare’s Miami-Dade group of hospitals. In his COO role, Mark implemented best practices across the five hospitals to optimize efficiency and improve quality of care. Mark has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in business administration from Fitchburg State University.

Debbie joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill as CEO in February 2022. She brings more 25 years of leadership experience serving as president, chief operating officer, chief nursing officer and other senior leadership roles throughout her career. Debbie previously served as chief operating officer at Owensboro Health based in Owensboro, Kentucky, serving an 18 county region in Kentucky and Indiana. Prior to that role, Debbie served as senior vice president operations/chief nursing officer at Life Point Health – St. Francis/Emory in Columbus, Georgia. Debbie also served in various leadership roles including president, chief operating officer and chief nursing officer at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Florida. Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. She has served in numerous professional and community organizations including American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Florida Hospital Association Advocacy Committee, American Heart Association Heart Walk chair and executive leadership team.

Randy joined Encompass Health in May 2022 and brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to his role. He has spent much of his career as a senior leader in the acute care hospital setting and prides himself on being a “people centered leader.” He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and dual master's degrees in health service administration and business administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Randy is a long-standing member and fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mike has served as chief executive officer for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast since December 2020. For 18 years prior to assuming the role of chief executive officer, Mike served in various senior leadership roles in acute care hospital systems. Most recently, he served as president of a tertiary acute care hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Boyd is the chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene and has worked for Encompass Health since 2010. Originally from Ohio, he has served in various leadership roles in home health, inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to joining the Encompass Health Abilene team, Boyd worked as the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls and as an associate administrator in the Developing Future CEO program at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson. Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in human movement and development from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Findlay, and a master’s degree in health administration from Ohio University.

Lauren is a healthcare executive with 10 years of experience in leading teams to achieve operational excellence and superior patient outcomes. She previously held hospital CEO roles for several national post-acute care companies. Lauren earned her MPH in healthcare management from Emory University as well as a bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Florida. Lauren’s commitment is to continue to have Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Austin be the best place for patients to be cared for and employees to work.

Amy is chief executive officer of CHI St. Joseph Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health. She transitioned to CEO from the role of director of therapy for CHI St. Joseph Health. Amy brings many years of experience in direct patient care as an occupational therapist combined with more than 15 years of therapy leadership. She earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Texas Women’s University.

Sheila serves as chief executive officer for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. She joined Encompass Health in March 2010, as the interim chief executive officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sugar Land. Sheila has a bachelor’s degree in general education as well as respiratory therapy. An accomplished healthcare professional with 21 years experience in the industry, she has a strong background encompassing all aspects of business development and operations in the post acute care environment.

Jonathan has worked at Encompass Health since 2013 as an occupational therapist, therapy team leader, senior patient assessments coordinator and director of therapy. He is a licensed occupational therapist (OTR) who attended the University of Central Arkansas where he received his bachelor’s degree in health science and Master of Science in occupational therapy.

With 25 years in healthcare consisting of both clinical and operational roles, Nick brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Katy. Nick has served in a variety of leadership roles including business development, inpatient operations and outpatient areas. Prior to joining our Katy team, Nick served 8 years with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sugar Land as the CEO. Nick has a clinical background in critical care nursing. He has a master's degree in healthcare and business administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake, and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Jason came back to his West Texas roots by joining Encompass Health Midland Odessa in September 2018 as chief executive officer. With more than 20 years of multidisciplinary healthcare experience, he has held numerous positions within Encompass Health including serving as the interim CEO of Encompass Health Tinton Falls, nurse manager and director of quality and risk management at Encompass Health of Midland Odessa and associate administrator at Encompass Health Concord in New Hampshire. He holds associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Angelo State University and multiple nursing certifications, including the distinction of Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

Mike Cabiro assumed the role of CEO in March 2017 and brings 15 years of operational leadership experience to his role at Encompass Health Pearland in addition to his 12 years of clinical-level experience as a physical therapist. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from LSU Medical Center and a master’s degree in business administration from TWU in Houston.

Lauren is a healthcare executive with 10 years of experience in leading teams to achieve operational excellence and superior patient outcomes. She previously held hospital CEO roles for several national post-acute care companies. Lauren earned her master's degree in public health and healthcare management from Emory University as well as a bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Florida. Andrew joined Encompass Health in San Antonio as CEO in 2018. He received a master’s degree in healthcare administration from St. Louis University and a bachelor’s degree from Texas State. In his 15-year healthcare career, he has worked in varied institutions including leading neurosciences in three academic medical centers, being a COO in a Level I trauma center and a CEO in a long-term acute care hospital.

Bill is the chief executive officer and has worked for Encompass Health since the Summer of 2022. His initial role was controller before moving into his current role as CEO. Bill has worked in health care for more than 35 years in various leadership roles in acute care hospitals and large physician groups. Bill is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of West Florida, and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.

With more than 18 years in healthcare, consisting of clinical and operational roles, Bindu Varghese brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to Encompass Health Sugar Land Rehabilitation Hospital. She has been with Encompass Health Sugar Land for more than 11 years and served as the director of therapy operations for eight of those years. Bindu has a clinical background in occupational therapy and also holds a master’s degree in business administration. Since her time at Encompass Health Sugar Land, she has led the team to its successful completion in many large scale projects. She has also served on Encompass Health’s National Therapy Leadership Board and Diversity Council. Bindu is driven and passionate in providing quality care to the patients and getting them back home with their loved ones.

Todd Wallace first joined Encompass Health in December 2003 as a physical therapist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Texarkana. Todd has served in a number of clinical leadership roles at Encompass Health, most recently as the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene. Accomplishments with Encompass Health include leading in its achievement of The Joint Commission certification as a disease-specific care facility for strokes, hip fractures and amputees at Encompass Health Texarkana and assisting with recertification in several of the disease-specific certification programs thereafter. Todd has served as the Southwest Regional STOP Team Champion which promotes safe mobility of patients and also played a significant role in implementing an annual community stroke continuing education program. Additionally, he co-created the hospital’s leadership DRIVE series, which is a five-part training series designed to recognize and develop leadership talent already present in the hospital. Todd’s passion is developing and growing vibrant leadership teams with a mission and heart for patient success. Prior to his time with Encompass Health, Todd worked as a physical therapist for rehabilitation at home and CHRISTUS St. Michael Rehabilitation Hospital, both in Texarkana. Todd attended Southern Arkansas University and completed his master’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Central Arkansas.

Sharla has more than 30 years of healthcare experience and has served as CEO of Trinity Mother Frances Rehabilitation Hospital since 1998. She promotes an environment of clinical excellence and her inspiration comes from working with a dynamic team that centers their attention on getting every patient back to their greatest level of independence. Sharla holds a bachelor’s degree in public health from the University of Oklahoma.  She also earned a master’s degree in public health administration with an emphasis in healthcare administration from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Krista brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to Encompass Health The Vintage. She has been with Encompass Health since 2012 as the CEO of Encompass Health The Woodlands and transitioned to Encompass Health The Vintage in 2015. During her career, Krista has taken on several progressive roles within the acute rehabilitation hospital setting encompassing all aspects of operations within the rehabilitation environment. She graduated from Moorhead State University in her native state of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

Angie brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to her role as area chief executive officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospitals of The Woodlands and Vision Park. She has been with Encompass Health since 1997 and was the CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble for 14 years prior to assuming her role as area CEO. She promotes an environment of clinical excellence with the primary goal to help each patient regain their highest level of independence and enhance their quality of life. A Texas native, Angie is a graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. She also earned her master's degree in business administration from Colorado State University.

Donna has been with the Encompass Health network for more than 26 years. Before becoming the inaugural CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco in 2020, she served as the CEO of Encompass Health’s inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas for 14 years and also as the hospital’s director of human resources. Prior to working for Encompass Health, she worked in operations for an acute care hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in health services administration.

With more than 20 years in healthcare consisting of both clinical and operational roles, LaDessa brings a solid understanding of overall hospital operations to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque. LaDessa has served in a variety of leadership roles including associate administrator, and director of therapy operations consisting of inpatient operations and outpatient areas. Prior to joining our Albuquerque team, LaDessa served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Richardson. LaDessa has a clinical background in occupational therapy. She has a doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals, a master’s degree in business administration and healthcare management from Western Governors University, and is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Martha joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Bakersfield in 2014 and has 30 years of healthcare experience. Previously, Martha served as a vice president at San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) in Bakersfield where she provided administrative and operational oversight for 14 ancillary and clinical departments. Additionally she developed and implemented “The Stroke Center” at SJCH, a certified stroke program between Los Angeles and San Francisco and secured 24 hour neurology call coverage. Martha is a registered nurse and holds a master’s degree in business administration. She is a certified professional in healthcare quality and a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Nate is an experienced executive leader with 15 years of extensive experience in the management and delivery of quality healthcare in a variety of leadership roles. Nate has served in a variety of leadership roles including director of emergency services, senior director of hospital operations, VP patient care services and chief nursing officer and CEO. Prior to joining our Colorado Springs team, Nate served as CEO at Scion Health - Kindred Hospital of Denver. He has a master’s degree in business administration and healthcare management and a bachelor's degree in nursing from University of Phoenix. Nate has a strong clinical background in nursing and a passion for clinical excellence and process improvement.

Michele joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Desert Canyon team as the CEO in April 2022, bringing almost 20 years’ experience in inpatient rehabilitation with her. She began her career at Encompass Health Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital in 2003 as a physical therapist in Evansville, Indiana. She became the director of therapy operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson in 2014, and participated in the developing future CEO program at Encompass Health Northwest Tucson.  She is a graduate of the University of Evansville with a master’s degree in physical therapy and also has an MBA with a concentration in health care administration. Michele currently serves on the board of directors for Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports (SAAS).

Tim joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of East Valley as the CEO in April 2024. He began his career with Encompass Health as the quality and risk management director of Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital in Yuma, AZ. Tim participated in the developing future CEO program at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University with a master’s degree in healthcare administration. Prior to his career in healthcare, Tim had the honor of serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Dr. Varsha Chauhan joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson in 2022. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1997 and a master's degree in healthcare administration in 2002. Dr. Chauhan’s extensive expertise spans across patient care, healthcare administration, regulatory compliance and strategic development. She holds a Lean & Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification along with a Compliance Officer Certification from the Health Care Compliance Association. Dr. Chauhan’s passion for patient care and employee engagement is the driving force behind her many achievements in healthcare.

Tij joined Encompass Health Las Vegas in 2013 after completing his master's of science in speech language pathology at the University of Utah. Prior to becoming the EHLV CEO, he served as a speech therapist and, later, as the patient assessment standards coordinator. Most recently, Tij trained as an executive in the Encompass Health CEO development program. He currently serves on the Encompass Health Inclusion and Diversity Committee and holds a lean six sigma black belt. Tij earned dual bachelor's degrees in Russian and communication science and disorders from Brigham Young University.

With more than 15 years’ experience in healthcare management, Noomi brings a unique people and processed focused leadership style to Encompass Health. Her passion for process improvement and efficiency derives from her educational background where she obtained both her master’s degree and bachelor’s degree from the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark where she was born and raised. Noomi's healthcare experience spans a wide range from the acute care hospital setting to the pharmaceutical industry where she has served in several different leadership roles. She is a results driven leader who is passionate about understanding the reason behind everything we do and gets energized by working with her team to remove barriers in day-to-day operations.

As CEO, Al is responsible for the day-to-day operations for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Modesto. He previously served as CEO for several post-acute care hospitals across the country. Al earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise biology from the University of California – Davis and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota. Having worked in both acute care and post-acute care, Al brings a unique perspective on advancing operational excellence and is committed to providing exceptional care to the patients and community in Northern California.

As CEO, Perry is responsible for the day-to-day operations for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Murrieta.  He began his career as a physical therapist after receiving his master’s degree in physical Therapy from Chapman University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from California Lutheran University. Perry advanced his career and most recently worked as an Enterprise vice president of an acute care system. Having worked as a hospital executive for more than 15 years and in the healthcare industry for more than 28 years, Perry has a great deal of experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Perry is passionate about ensuring patients and families have an exceptional experience when receiving care from the team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Murrieta.

Jeff brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience as the area CEO to both Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson (RIT) & Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Northwest Tucson (SoAZ). Originally from New York, Jeff relocated with his family to Tucson from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was CEO at Carolinas Specialty Hospital. Jeff received a master’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M at Corpus Christi. He received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. Jeff is active with many community organizations in the Tucson area.

Lisa joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Scottsdale in April 2007. Lisa graduated from Arizona State University in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She was an audit manager for seven years with Deloitte & Touche and has more than 15 years of controller experience.

Paula joined the Encompass Health Tustin team in 2006. Paula brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare finance, leadership and management. Prior to joining Encompass, Paula held finance leadership positions in acute care settings and physician groups. She also has experience in public accounting, tax and audit, as well as non-profit organizations. Paula is passionate about performance improvement and ensuring the patient experience is nothing short of excellent. Paula earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cal Poly Pomona.

Chuck Smith joined Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Utah with over 25 years of post-acute experience. He began his healthcare career as a floor nurse. He continued to grow his skill as a manager, director, financial officer, regional operations director, and as VP of hospital services prior to joining the Encompass Health team. In addition to his nursing, Chuck holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration & management and a master’s degree in business administration. He enjoys building strong hospital teams that work together in providing excellent patient care.

Mark Roth brings more than 12 years of senior healthcare experience and more than 25 years in finance and operations to Encompass Health Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital. Mark is a Phoenix-area native, but most recently working at inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the Prescott and Flagstaff areas as CFO and COO and has relocated his family back to the valley. Mark received his bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University and his master’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

As CEO, Kristin is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital. Kristin served in the role of chief nursing officer for 14 years and is a certified rehabilitation registered nurse. She began her career as a registered nurse in 2001 after graduating from Arizona Western College School of Nursing. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jacksonville University and a master’s degree of business administration, healthcare management, from Western Governors University. Kristin brings unique clinical knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation hospital operations and is passionate about providing our patients and their families with an exceptional experience.
