Dr. Philip Chen is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician (PM&R) providing inpatient rehabilitation services for patients at the University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between University of Iowa Health Systems and Encompass Health. Dr. Brian Walsh joined Encompass Health in October 2020 and became associate medical director in March 2021. Dr. Mehta is proud to serve as medical director of Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health. Dr. Collier joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Waco team as its inaugural medical director in 2021. As a physiatrist, or a physician specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation, he is focused on helping patients achieve a higher quality of life. Dr. Cull is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who has been practicing for more than 20 years. She has extensive experience as a medical director, most recently at Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. Dr. Cull previously served as the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City, Florida, and associate medical director and then director of neurorehabilitation at Encompass Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. Dr. Nathaniel Miller is the medical director of Encompass Health Colorado Springs and serves as the associate medical director of Encompass Health Littleton. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Denver and a master’s degree in organic chemistry from CU Denver. He furthered his medical education by receiving his medical doctorate at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and by completing his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Marianjoy in Wheaton, Illinois. David is the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Desert Canyon. He has been working with Dr. Farzin's group in the Las Vegas area at Mountainview Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit and surrounding LTACHs and SNFs during the past year and is part of the faculty at the HCA Sunrise GME PM&R residency program. David completed PM&R training and medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He has a particular interest in stroke, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury as he was involved in global health and resident education on these topics. David is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and strives to improve the patient experience.

Dr. John Lopez serves as the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of East Valley. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a subspecialty certification in spinal cord injury medicine. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he completed his medical studies at Midwestern University Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training at the University of Kentucky where he served as chief resident. He concluded his medical training with a Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation.

Dr. Nguyen, medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson, has been serving the rehabilitation community for more than 18 years. Dr. Nguyen is a board certified physiatrist by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and medical doctorate degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Nguyen completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Farzin received his medical doctorate from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1992. Dr. Amir Buljina is originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina where he graduated at medical school and completed residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He received his master’s and doctoral degree at the University of Sarajevo. Amir moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2001 and repeated a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and worked as attending for one year. He then moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2006 and worked as a physiatrist in an acute and subacute setting. He is board certified and a fellow of AAPMR.
