Sheila brings over 30 years of leadership experience to her role as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. Sheila has worked in various roles within the Company since 2010, having most recently served as CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress and prior to that at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sugar Land. She earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences, general studies from the University of Central Florida and completed the Respiratory Therapy Program at Houston Community College.

Dr. Tony Nguyen is the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen brings nearly 10 years of experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) from both the acute and post-acute settings. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Houston and medical degree from Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

With over a decade of experience as an human resources professional, Naomi is a results-focused leader who provides strategic advice, retention and motivation solutions that helps the company harness the full power of one of their most valuable assets – their people. Naomi previously worked at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress before joining this team. She attended the University of Houston for business administration and management and acquired a human resources management certification from Rice University.

Krystal serves as chief nursing officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. With over 34 years of extensive experience in acute healthcare, Krystal began her career in healthcare as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She graduated from Truckee Meadows Community College with an associate degree in nursing and from Walden University with a master’s degree in the same field. She is currently pursuing her PhD in healthcare. Krystal continues to be a passionate advocate for patient-centered care and the nursing profession, driving initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes and elevate nursing practice.

Hany brings an extensive pharmacy experience to Encompass Health. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biochemical pharmacology and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Buffalo. He received his master’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University. Hany is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS). In addition, he is a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Hany is actively involved in various local and national pharmacy associations.

Solomon joins the Encompass Health team with a robust background in the hospital and healthcare industry. With hands-on experience in construction and project management, along with certifications in electrical and HVAC, Solomon brings a comprehensive approach to facilities management. His expertise spans operations, life safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring facilities meet NFPA, TJC, CMS, DNV, and State standards. As an IFMA Facilities Management Professional (FMP), he leads with a detail-oriented focus on efficiency, safety, and operational excellence, driving quality outcomes for both patients and staff.

Ryan serves as the business development director for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. A Maryland native, Ryan has held various levels of leadership encompassing all aspects of business development in the post-acute environment. Ryan earned his degree from Midland College through the nursing home administrator program. He brings more than 20 years of healthcare and business development experience to the Encompass Health team and is a strong advocate for patients who require inpatient rehabilitation in an effort for them to regain their highest level of independence and enhance their quality of life.

Shema Matthews serves as the director of quality and risk at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. A New York native, she has more than seven years of patient safety and quality experience with a focus on patient satisfaction. Matthews is responsible for ensuring patients receive excellent care and achieve exceptional outcomes.

Lindi brings nearly 20 years of clinical experience to the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. She began her career with Encompass Health in 2010 as lead speech-language pathologist at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cypress. Lindi earned both her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and master’s degree in speech and language pathology from Lamar University. A compassionate and dedicated professional skilled in assessing patients’ needs, Lindi works to develop individualized therapy plans and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

As director of case management, Tamara brings over 20 years of experience to the team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center. She has experience in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, regulatory environments, and education. Tamara earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Lamar University-Beaumont. With a commitment to empowering individuals and communities, Tamara continues to foster collaboration among healthcare providers, social services, and educational institutions to promote holistic well-being.

Bruce joined the team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston at The Medical Center as controller in May 2024. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. Bruce has over 25 years of experience in healthcare and financial management. Previously, he worked at for-profit hospital corporate offices in management roles with responsibility for Medicare and commercial reimbursement and regulatory compliance in both inpatient acute, behavioral and post-acute settings.
