Daniel brings more than 30 years of healthcare management expertise and a passion for rehabilitation as the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston. Parkinson graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and earned his master’s degree in business administration from UMass Boston. He has served in several different positions within Encompass Health, including director of therapy operations and business development director.

A seasoned facilities management expert, Steve has spearheaded operations in the hospital and long-term care sectors for over 10 years. As a facilities management director, he successfully guided three Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accreditations, demonstrating his commitment to excellence. Steve is passionate about enhancing patient satisfaction and experience. Holding a Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification, he also brings a strong foundation in the nursing home, assisted living and property management realms, managing a portfolio of 12 properties. Known as a creative problem solver, Steve consistently completes projects on time and within budget while expertly diagnosing and maintaining mechanical equipment. With an OSHA 10 certification, he ensures the highest safety standards are upheld.

Scott brings more than 25 years of healthcare and human resources expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. A native of Ithaca, New York, he graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. He then received a master’s degree in sports medicine from the United States Sports Academy and earned licensure as an athletic trainer. Several years ago, he transitioned from athletic training into human resources and now holds the professional human resources certification. He has been a proud Johnston, Rhode Island resident for over 20 years with his wife and two daughters.

Lori Gibbens joins Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston after 32 years with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie. An Erie native, she graduated from Mercyhurst University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Jennifer joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston in 2024 as director of case management. Greene brings more than two decades of case management experience to her role. Greene’s case management experience spans the continuum of care, including acute care, acute rehabilitation, home health and managed care environments. A native of Greenfield, Massachusetts, Greene graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Justine is a physical therapist by background, having received her bachelor’s, master’s, and Doctorate degrees from Northeastern University. She has many years of clinical and operational leadership experience in a variety of healthcare settings with a true passion for neurologic rehabilitation, particularly brain injury. Justine believes in fostering a dynamic and innovative therapy team that can deliver impactful, personalized care.

As a physical therapy graduate of Quinnipiac University, Joy brings more than 25 years as a senior leader across multiple healthcare settings, most focusing on post-acute care services. She has been part of the Encompass Health family since 2019. As the director of business development, she leads a team of clinicians who assist hospitals, families and patients with accessing the acute rehabilitation care they need and deserve.

As a pharmacy leader, David joined Encompass Health with more than 15 years of experience in diverse acute care, rehabilitation and infusion pharmacy settings. A Rhode Island native, David earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from MCPHS University in Boston. David has a passion for ensuring safe medication usage and practices.

Taylor brings over a decade of healthcare experience across various rehabilitation settings. A Rhode Island native, she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in healthcare administration from Rhode Island College. She is also a licensed nursing home administrator in the State of Rhode Island.

As the chief nursing officer of Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston, Erin provides strategic direction and executive leadership to the department of nursing and respiratory therapy, bringing decades of experience in leadership and nursing from acute hospitals and the subacute healthcare industry. She has experience in quality management, service excellence, patient throughput, staff recruitment and retention and regulatory affairs. She earned an associate degree in nursing from the Community College of Rhode Island, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Rhode Island, a master of science in healthcare administration and management from Salve Regina University and will complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rhode Island College in the spring of 2025. Truman is an active member of the Organization of Nurse Leaders and American Nurses Association.
