Chief Executive Officer
Brad assumed the role of chief executive officer at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro in June 2024. He holds a bachelor‘s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration, specializing in healthcare management from Harding University. Brad has worked at multiple Encompass Health locations in Arkansas and in a variety of roles including director of case management, certified case manager and registered nurse. He participated in Encompass Health’s self-paced developing future CEO program. Brad is committed to providing quality patient care and serving the dedicated workers at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro.
Medical Director
Dr. Vestal B. Smith, Jr. brings more than 20 years of experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro. He is a graduate of University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he trained in neurology and physical medicine. Previously he served on the medical staff of Baptist Rehabilitation Institute in Little Rock, as well as, Arkansas Heart Hospital and Arkansas Surgical Hospital. As a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, Dr. Smith enhances and restores functional ability and quality of life to patients with physical impairments. He is trained in designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans, and is an integral member of the care team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro.
Dr. Smith is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Human Resources
Tammy is the director of human resources and has been employed at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro since 1990 with previous experience in health information management. She handles the employee relations, benefits, compensation, recruitment and retention for the employees of the hospital.
Controller
Allan is the controller at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro. He has been in healthcare since 1993, working for various providers throughout the southeast. An Arkansas native, Allan holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arkansas State University. Allan lives in Jonesboro with his wife and three children.
Chief Nursing Officer
Becky has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro since 1989 and is currently serving as the chief nursing officer. She graduated from ASU with her associate’s degree in nursing in 1995. Becky also obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2018 from ASU. She has been a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) since 1996 and is board-certified in infection control and epidemiology.
Facilities Management Director
Clint joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro in 2015 after earning his associate degree of applied sciences from Arkansas State University as a physical therapist assistant. Throughout his tenure at our hospital, Clint intermittently helped in the maintenance department because of his previous background in home construction. He served as the interim director for approximately four months eventually leading to his current position as the facilities management director. Clint’s goal at Encompass Health is to create and maintain an efficient, safe and comfortable environment as well as contribute daily to the quality outcomes that we provide to our patients as our team seeks to return them to the highest level of independence possible when they leave our hospital.
Business Development Director
Mark began his career at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro in December 2010 with more than 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He assumed the role of director of marketing as well as overseeing the inpatient admissions department. Mark graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Arkansas State University.
Case Management Director
Lori is the director of case management and has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro, since 1996. She started as a part-time switchboard operator while she worked towards her master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from Arkansas State University. Lori graduated from ASU in 1998 and assumed her role of case manager and in February 2011, she was promoted to director of case management. Lori is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Director of Quality and Risk
Kathleen is currently the director of quality management at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Jonesboro. With her rehabilitation experience, as well as her previous acute care and surgery experience, she has a unique insight into quality management. Kathleen is a strong patient advocate and is constantly looking for avenues of improvement to ensure our patients receive a quality patient experience.
