Our experienced neurorehabilitation team uses innovative technology combined with proven therapy techniques to help patients with brain injuries Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), Guillain-Barré syndrome, Lou Gehrig’s disease and other conditions that affect the brain and nervous system. Treatments can help with mobility, speech, swallowing, spasticity and cognitive function.
Advanced therapy is crucial to the recovery process after trauma injuries, hip fracture, joint replacement, amputation and other orthopedic injuries. As leaders in stroke rehabilitation, we help patients adjust to and treat the mental and physical effects of stroke, with the goal of regaining their greatest level of independence. Rehabilitation for spinal cord injury is complex and multifaceted. Chief Executive Officer
Andrew is the chief executive officer of Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital and brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry to the hospital. Prior to joining Encompass Health, Andrew served as a senior consultant assisting various hospitals with margin enhancement, productivity and operational improvement analysis, and as chief administrative officer of Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Andrew earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hanover College and a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University.
Facilities Management Director
Edward has been with Encompass Health since April 2023, as a senior maintenance mechanic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Edward transferred to the new Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky in April 2024 to the position of facility management director. Edward’s a retired deputy sheriff from Eau Claire County where he served his community for 30 years. After retirement, he was active in construction until he accepted the position at Encompass Health.
Human Resources Director
Missy is the human resources director for Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital and has been in human resources and recruiting for the healthcare industry since 2000, including positions with Humana, Kindred, Trilogy and Vibra Healthcare systems. She is dual certified with HRCI (SPHR, 2011) and SHRM (SHRM-SCP, 2014). She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
Director of Case Management
Susan serves as our director of case management. She previously worked at our joint venture partner, Baptist Health, as a case manager on the acute rehabilitation unit for the past 32 years. She graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work in 1985 and from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work with a master’s degree in social work in 1991. She also is a Certified Social Worker (CSW) in the state of Kentucky. Susan has served on the board of the Kentuckiana Stroke Association for over 25 years and currently serves as the vice president. Susan is responsible for overseeing the discharge process for our patients by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and coordinating appropriate plans with patients and their families to ensure a smooth transition home or to the next level of care.
Director of Quality & Risk Management
Jill brings 34 years of nursing experience to Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital. Jill completed her bachelor of science in nursing from University of Missouri in 1990 and holds certifications in Quality (CPHQ) and Risk Management (CPHRM). Jill has served in various leadership roles in the Louisville area. Jill heads the hospital’s patient satisfaction initiatives, quality reviews and advanced certification requirements, including The Joint Commission. Jill is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and currently resides in Louisville, Kentucky with husband.
Business Development Director
Carey is an accomplished healthcare business development leader with more than 25 years of experience specializing in provider relations and directing client-facing teams. Carey brings her passion about exceptional patient care and meeting clients’ needs to Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital where she manages the admissions and rehabilitation liaison teams. Carey earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from University of Dayton and a master’s degree in business administration from Bellarmine University.
Director of Pharmacy
Jerry serves as the director of pharmacy at Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned his doctorate from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in 2017, where he excelled as a servant leader both in and out of the community. With his vast professional, educational and practical experience in both hospital and retail pharmacy, he utilizes high level clinical rationale to continue to grow and develop as a healthcare leader. Jerry strives to promote quality and efficient patient-centered care with excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills. He joined Encompass Health in March 2024 and is excited to further his career with a focus on patient and staff satisfaction.
Chief Nursing Officer
Mary has 15 years of healthcare experience in both acute care and rehabilitation settings. She has served in a leadership role over the last seven years in acute rehabilitation. Mary has dual certifications in nursing leadership and in rehabilitation nursing. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville in 2009, has since achieved her master’s degree in nursing leadership and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Controller
Rosemary joined Encompass Health in March as the controller at the Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital. She worked for Trinity Health in Michigan for six years prior to relocating to Louisville. Rosemary has spent close to 25 years in public accounting, also serving in controller and CFO positions in non-profit entities. After attending the University of South Alabama on an Army ROTC scholarship and completing a bachelor’s degree in economics, Rosemary served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army for eight years. Upon leaving the military, she completed a master’s degree in accounting at Indiana University. Throughout her career Rosemary has worked for entities with a mission related to people services and that has become her passion.
Director of Therapy Operations
Chelsea is the dedicated director of therapy at Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital, bringing with her over nine years of invaluable experience from Encompass Health. Starting her journey as an occupational therapist, Chelsea progressed to become a therapy manager, overseeing several units at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, a respected 158-bed hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Chelsea holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Spalding University, a testament to her commitment to her profession. Chelsea is known for her leadership style, which focuses on helping both patients and staff members achieve their goals. She remains dedicated to serving the community through patient-centered care.
